Help Us Build The Future of Travel
At Airalo, we're making it easier for people to stay connected wherever they travel. As the world's first eSIM store, we help millions of travelers access affordable mobile data in 200+ countries and regions around the world.
Today, we're a team of 400+ people across 60+ countries, building a product used by travelers every day. We've grown quickly, but we've worked hard to keep what matters: trust, ownership, and the freedom for people to do great work without unnecessary layers or bureaucracy.
We're fully remote by design, genuinely global, and united by a shared mission to make travel simpler for everyone.

We are seeking a versatile Solution Architect to lead the localized adaptation and system integration of our Global MVNO Core. Your mission is to ensure that our platform (HSS, DRA, PGW) isn't just "connected," but fully optimized for specific local market requirements.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between our standardized engineering sprints and the diverse, custom-heavy needs of local MNOs, regulators, and partners. You will provide the functional vision to Core Network Engineers, enabling them to focus on technical architecture while ensuring regional mandates and interconnectivity specifications are met.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary conduit between legal/regulatory findings and the Core Network team, translating regional mandates into clear functional requirements.
- Lead requirement discovery workshops with local MNOs, regulators, and internal teams to define scope, priorities, and implementation approaches.
- Compare local regulatory requirements against existing platform capabilities and collaborate with Core Engineers to identify enhancements, trade-offs, and phased delivery paths.
- Create high-level technical workflows and flowcharts for regulatory services (e.g., MNP, Lawful Interception) to guide engineering teams.
- Define business rules and data exchange requirements for Number Portability (MNP) and specify functional needs for voice/SMS routing, including edge cases and exception handling.
- Define data points and reporting frequencies required by local authorities, ensuring engineering builds proper extraction tools and validation checks.
- Define acceptance criteria, test scenarios, and sign-off requirements to ensure technical delivery satisfies country-specific regulatory criteria.
- Manage technical-regulatory checklists across multiple countries simultaneously, tracking dependencies for development sprints and escalating risks.
- Coordinate with local central databases and external partners to guarantee interworking specifications meet quality-of-service mandates and readiness milestones.
- Mentor and upskill Solution Analysts and cross-functional teams on best practices for writing user stories, functional specifications, and traceability.
- Provide functional leadership to development teams by clarifying intent, reviewing stories/acceptance criteria, and supporting balanced solution design decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Solution Architect, preferably within the Telecom or Tech industry.
- Proven ability to synthesize complex regulatory documents into actionable engineering tasks.
- Comfortable discussing technical concepts such as SIP, SMS routing, and MNP databases with engineers.
- Highly skilled in writing clear User Stories, Functional Specs, and managing Jira tickets that engineering teams can execute against.
- Experience or deep interest in international roaming, interconnectivity, and the nuances of global telecom markets.
- Ability to create clear, structured technical documentation and process flowcharts.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members.
- Ability to act as an effective liaison between legal, product, and engineering teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice to Have
- Prior work experience in MVNO or Mobile Core environments.
- Experience with GSMA standards and eSIM technology.
- Familiarity with Lawful Interception (LI) and regional compliance reporting.
