The Opportunity

We are looking for a UX Design Engineer to own and perfect the end-to-end user experience. The ideal person for this role obsesses over the details and can deliver tangible improvements to the product.

Most engineering teams treat UX refinement as an afterthought squeezed between feature work. We have a dedicated role for it because we believe the difference between "works" and "delightful" is what separates good products from great ones. You'll have the space to really care about craft. We're a technical team building for technical users, and your job is to make the experience of using our product enjoyable.

What You'll Do

Own the look and experience of the product end to end:

User Research

• Identify pain points across user interactions.
• Review real user sessions in Fullstory, identify friction points, and fix them.

Design Solutions

• Prototype interaction alternatives rapidly (in Figma or code) to test different approaches.
• Create, refine, and iterate on UX flows and interaction patterns.

Implement Solutions

• Work closely with senior engineers who own feature architecture—they build the foundation, you perfect the interface.
• Run lightweight usability tests to validate improvements.
• Build reusable interaction patterns that the team can leverage.

A Typical Week Might Include:

• Watching 10 user sessions and identifying common friction points.
• Meeting with users to get in-depth feedback on new product features.
• Prototyping different user flows in Figma.
• Implementing design improvements with smooth transitions and helpful inline guidance.
• Pairing with Staff engineers to refactor a complex form into a multi-step wizard.
• Running a quick usability test with 5 users on the new onboarding flow.

You're a Great Fit If:

• You have an engineering background: You have experience as a frontend developer, hold an engineering degree, or use tools like Claude Code / Cursor to make impactful design changes.
• You have worked on complex technical products (developer tools, data platforms, or B2B SaaS) where UX quality is critical.
• You have a portfolio demonstrating product refinement and measurable UX improvements.
• You have built or contributed to design systems and animation libraries.
• You have experience utilizing feedback collection tools and incorporating user insights into design iterations.
• You are proficient in Figma for wireframing, building flows, and collaborating with engineers.
• You instinctively design for edge cases, loading states, and empty states.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary Range: $165,000 – $200,000 per year
