Web Designer - B12

Role Overview

Being a Web Designer at B12 means being a main contributor to the success of the company. At B12, our web designers use our design suite to assemble initial websites for customers after drafts have already been generated by our AI. You will work closely with our customer success team and other design experts to focus on what you love most—design!

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer briefs for small and medium-sized businesses ranging from cafés to real estate investment firms.
• Use B12's Design Suite (a WYSIWYG website editor with support for custom HTML5/CSS overrides) to put together initial customer websites in ~4 hours using provided content, preferences, and AI-generated drafts.
• Complete enhancement requests for existing customer websites, ranging from minor updates to complex custom design improvements.
• Intersperse multiple customer project deliverables while awaiting design feedback from customers and design leads.
• Help co-design B12's Design Suite and open-source workflow management tool, Orchestra.
• Explore adjacent growth opportunities as a reviewer or mentor for other designers.

Requirements

• Remote or local NYC location.
• 3–5 years of web design experience with a passion for customer-focused website delivery.
• 1–2 years of hands-on HTML/CSS experience.
• Available for a minimum of 10 hours and maximum of 20 hours per week.
• Excellent written English communication skills.
• Comfortable turning unstructured customer content and requests into pixel-perfect, responsive web designs across desktop and mobile devices.
• Excited to receive and incorporate constructive feedback from customer success managers or art directors, while confident enough to push back on design decisions when appropriate.
• Eager to learn the B12 Design Suite and support B12's mission of helping people do meaningful work.
