Company Operating Rhythm
At Deepgram, we expect an AI-first mindset—AI use and comfort aren’t optional, they’re core to how we operate, innovate, and measure performance.
Every team member at Deepgram is expected to actively use and experiment with advanced AI tools, and even build your own into your everyday work. We measure how effectively AI is applied to deliver results, and consistent, creative use of the latest AI capabilities is key to success here.
The Opportunity
Deepgram is investing in Arabic-language capabilities, and we are hiring an Applied Engineer to be the first member of our Applied Engineering team dedicated to Arabic-speaking markets. We would love for you to be based in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), and the search is open across the broader EMEA region.
You'll operate in the Solutions Architect role, leading the technical design and delivery of customer implementations across MENA, from kickoff through production cutover. Because you'll be the first dedicated technical presence in the region, you'll also take a strong share of pre-sales work, including technical discovery, proof-of-concepts, and evaluations. You'll represent Deepgram in front of customers and at regional events, and bring feedback back to our Product and Research teams regarding Arabic models.
About the Solutions Architect Role at Deepgram
Solutions Architects at Deepgram own the periods when a customer's environment is changing (a new onboarding, a scaling deployment, a migration, a feature rollout). The work is hands-on and technical. You'll design solutions that fit each customer's stack and constraints, drive the deployment work itself, and turn what each engagement teaches you into reusable patterns.
You'll be hired into the Applied Engineer position on our Applied Engineering team, which combines what other companies split into Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Implementation, Forward-Deployed Engineering, and Technical Support.
What You'll Do
- Own the technical design and delivery of customer implementations across MENA, from kickoff through production cutover.
- Lead technical discovery, proof-of-concept design, and evaluations for regional prospects, partnering with Account Executives through the sales cycle.
- Design solutions that fit each customer's stack, constraints, and data-residency requirements.
- Represent Deepgram in front of Arabic-speaking customers and at regional events.
- Bring the voice of Arabic-language customers to Product and Research teams, including feedback on model performance across dialects.
- Develop reusable implementation patterns, reference architectures, and deployment playbooks.
- Provide support for the most complex post-onboarding cases in the region and help extend coverage into APAC hours over time.
Time Allocation
- 40% — Customer implementation and scaling engagements
- 25% — Pre-sales technical work, including discovery, demos, proof-of-concepts, and evaluations
- 15% — Building reusable patterns, reference architectures, and automation
- 10% — Documentation, knowledge sharing, and product feedback
- 10% — Complex post-onboarding escalations for regional customers
Your First 90 Days
- First 30 Days: Complete comprehensive onboarding to understand Deepgram's technology, products, and competitive landscape. Gain proficiency with core APIs and documentation. Shadow active implementation engagements and discovery calls.
- 60 Days: Begin owning customer implementation engagements end-to-end, and lead technical discovery for regional prospects. Start contributing to reusable implementation patterns, and deliver your first Arabic-focused demo or evaluation asset.
- 90 Days: Own the technical relationship with assigned regional accounts. Run evaluations and implementations concurrently, and establish a working feedback loop with Product and Research teams.
What We're Looking For
- Native or professional-level fluency in Arabic, and excellent written and spoken English.
- A base in the MENA region (preferred) or elsewhere in EMEA, in a country where our employment partner supports hiring.
- 4+ years of experience implementing or deploying technical solutions for enterprise customers, ideally in customer-facing technical roles.
- A strong software engineering background with professional development experience in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript / TypeScript, Rust).
- Experience leading technical delivery of production deployments, from design through cutover.
- Proven ability to scope complex technical work and sequence it for successful delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to engineering and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfort across multiple Arabic dialects (Egyptian, Gulf, Levantine, North African).
- Experience with speech recognition, natural language processing, AI voice agents, or related AI technologies.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with telephony and real-time media concepts (e.g., SIP, WebRTC, WebSocket streaming).
- French language skills (helpful across North Africa).
- Familiarity with procurement, information security, and data-residency expectations in the region.
