About DuckDuckGo
We are DuckDuckGo, the online protection company and a remote-first team of 300+ on a mission to raise the standard of trust online. Founded in 2008 and profitable since 2014, our annual revenue now exceeds $100M USD. Millions of users rely on our browser across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android, our search engine, and our latest offering, Privacy Pro. Our culture of trust, inclusivity, and empowered project management underpins everything we do.
Your Team and Role
As part of the Web Dependability Engineering team, you will ensure websites work seamlessly in DuckDuckGo's browsers across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android.
Recent projects include:
- Reverse-engineering how sites detect our privacy protections and building countermeasures.
- Shimming browser APIs so sites work across different browser engines and system webviews.
- Building LLM agent pipelines that automatically reproduce and triage reported site breakage.
As a Senior Web Compatibility Engineer, you will be our resident expert on why websites break and how to fix them. You will own the webcompat side of our triage process, debug complex issues in third-party code, distinguish site bugs from browser or privacy protection issues, lead incident response for top site breakages, and ship durable fixes across all platforms.
