About The Position

As the Sr. Director & Head of Architecture at G-P, you will be the visionary leader responsible for defining and executing the long-term technical strategy for our global products and AI platforms, influencing technical decisions across the company. This is a high-impact, executive-level role bridging the gap between complex engineering execution and high-level business objectives. You will oversee the evolution of our cloud-native ecosystem, ensuring our architecture is scalable, secure, and infused with cutting-edge AI/ML capabilities.

Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering, you will lead a high-performing team of Architects and work in lockstep with Product Management and Engineering to harmonize technology decisions across the organization.

What You Will Do

• Strategic Technical Leadership: Define and guide execution of a target-state, AI-native architecture supporting core software services and advanced AI agentic workflows.
• Architectural Governance: Establish global standards for architecture consistency, maximizing component reuse and aligning with long-term technology roadmaps.
• AI First Thinking: Oversee the architectural design of complex AI systems, AI enablement strategies, data engineering, and governance controls into a cohesive implementation.
• Customer Centricity: Deeply understand customer and business needs to architect strategies that drive business success.
• Team Management & Mentorship: Lead, scale, and mentor a multidisciplinary team of architects, fostering engineering excellence and continuous learning.
• Security & Compliance: Define standards and governance mechanisms for platform and infrastructure security, mitigating risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Technical Trade-offs: Serve as a coach and decision maker with technical teams and business stakeholders, balancing technical trade-offs against business impact.
• Innovation & Research: Act as a sounding board for adopting emerging technologies, third-party integrations, and open-source solutions.
• Reliability & Performance: Ensure system and infrastructure architecture delivers high reliability, low latency, and minimal downtime.
• Culture Builder: Cultivate a strong culture of innovation and technical excellence across the organization.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture building platforms and products, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or directorial capacity managing architecture teams.
• Cloud Expertise: Proven track record designing and deploying distributed, cloud-native architectures, especially on AWS.
• AI Strategy: Experience building AI-native products, platforms, and technologies.
• Strategic Communication: Demonstrated ability to gain buy-in for large-scale technical shifts from both executive leadership and hands-on engineering teams.
• Change Management: Experience leading architectural transformations within fast-growing or evolving corporate environments.
• Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze technology trade-offs through the lens of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI.
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
