Overview of the Role

As a Senior Developer Advocate at GitLab, you'll help technical audiences understand and use our intelligent orchestration platform where teams and their AI agents ship secure software faster. You'll go deep on the product, especially GitLab Duo Agent Platform and our newer capabilities, and continuously discover real-world workflows that teams care about.

You'll turn that hands-on knowledge into demos, blog posts, videos, and presentations, and bring what you learn from customers and the developer community back to GitLab. This role focuses on showing the product in action and building relationships across U.S. and Canadian time zones.

What You'll Do

• Deeply understand GitLab's platform, especially AI agent capabilities, and continuously identify productive, real-world use cases.
• Create technical product content, including videos, blog posts, presentations, and social clips demonstrating key workflows in the UI and terminal.
• Produce video content end to end: script, record, and edit product walkthroughs and demos, collaborating with the video team on higher-production pieces.
• Deliver product demos and participate in analyst briefings.
• Engage with customers through webinars, technical meetings, and ongoing conversations.
• Actively participate in the developer community across the GitLab forum, Discord, social platforms, newsletters, and events.
• Answer technical inquiries from sales teams and partner with support, sales, and product teams on developer educational content.
• Test new features and share hands-on feedback directly with product teams.
• Contribute technical research and competitive analysis of the developer tools landscape.
• Travel up to 20% for events, conferences, and customer meetings.

What You'll Bring

• Hands-on technical background with deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, particularly everything post-code-commit.
• Strong understanding of artificial intelligence in software development, including experience building and operating agentic systems and infrastructure.
• Proven ability to explain technical products clearly through live demos, walkthrough videos, or conference talks.
• Fluency in developer social platforms and community spaces.
• High curiosity and self-direction to identify emerging developer trends and opportunities.
• Experience engaging with customers, software engineers, and technical communities.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating across engineering, sales, and product teams.
