Senior Software Engineer II, Mobile (iOS) - Global Monetization (AI Native)

About Life360

Life360’s mission is to keep people close to the ones they love. Our category-leading mobile app, Tile tracking devices, and Pet GPS tracker empower members to protect the people, pets, and things they care about most with a range of services, including location sharing, safe driver reports, and crash detection with emergency dispatch. Life360 serves approximately 102.4 million monthly active users (MAU) across more than 180 countries.

Life360 is a remote-first company with over 500 employees. All positions, unless otherwise specified, can be performed remotely within the US and Canada.

We are AI Native

We are building an AI native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your recruiter will provide clear guidance during the interview process.

About The Team

Our mission is to build premium experiences that members happily pay for, wherever they live in the world. Global Monetization lays the foundation to put our focus markets outside the US on a steeper growth trajectory: pricing, packaging, payments, and market-specific premium features.

Our focal point is ownership and quality. We extend the premium feature set by building new features while keeping existing ones fast, healthy, and worth the price. We run experiments across paywalls, pricing, ad placement, and mediation because monetization decisions should be grounded in evidence.

We are a product-minded, AI-native engineering team that treats AI as a first-class collaborator at every stage: ideation, coding, testing, review, and iteration.

About the Job

Life360 is hiring a Senior Software Engineer II (titled "Developer" in Canada), an AI Builder with strong iOS skills who owns problems and solutions end-to-end, can build their own roadmap, and does not need to wait for requirements. You will work closely with product managers to propose and ship purchase experiences that scale for 100M+ monthly active users as we expand into new international markets.

What You’ll Do

  • Partner with product managers to shape the roadmap: bring proposals and help write product specifications.
  • Prototype rapidly using AI tools to turn rough ideas into clickable experiences in hours rather than weeks.
  • Build surfaces that carry market-specific pricing, packaging, and positioning: paywalls, plan selection, upsell/upgrade flows, and one-time purchases localized across storefronts and currencies.
  • Collaborate across product, design, data science, analytics, finance, and legal.
  • Own staged rollouts end-to-end: ramp exposure, monitor guardrails, and decide whether to hold, roll back, or scale.
  • Ship polished, performant, and reliable experiences with close attention to launch time, memory, battery, hangs, and crash-free rates.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, code reviews, and standards across mobile codebases.
  • Mentor other engineers and help evolve the team's AI-native engineering practices.

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • 6+ years of iOS software engineering experience shipping production apps at consumer scale.
  • Experience owning a problem end-to-end, from ideation to production, leveraging AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, etc.) as daily tools.
  • Deep experience with in-app purchases and subscription platforms, including entitlement handling, transaction validation, and restore/refund flows.
  • Experience shipping across multiple App Store storefronts, including regional pricing, localization, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong proficiency with Swift, SwiftUI, and UIKit; deep familiarity with modern iOS toolchains (Xcode, Swift Concurrency with async/await and actors, Combine).
  • Experience with iOS architectural patterns (MVVM, TCA, Clean Architecture, Swift Package Manager modularization) in large codebases.
  • Familiarity with mobile experimentation: feature flagging, A/B testing, exposure logging, holdouts, and guardrail metrics.
  • Solid grounding in mobile performance, memory, battery, hang, and crash diagnostics (Instruments, MetricKit, Xcode Organizer, Crashlytics).
  • Experience with iOS CI/CD (Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, GitHub Actions, Bitrise) and App Store Connect release management.
  • Clear communication of technical trade-offs to non-engineering partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-Have

  • Background in mobile analytics pipelines (Amplitude, Segment, Snowflake, Databricks).
  • Experience with experimentation platforms (Statsig, LaunchDarkly, Optimizely, Eppo, GrowthBook).
  • Experience with mobile ad SDKs and mediation (AdMob, AppLovin MAX).
  • Contributions to mobile open source or developer tooling.
  • AI-assisted Android development experience.

Our Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans (100% employer-paid for US employees; supplemental coverage for Canadian employees).
  • 401(k) matching in the US / RRSP with DPSP plan in Canada.
  • Equity compensation via Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Paid parental leave.
  • Flexible PTO, companywide holidays, plus summer and winter shutdowns.
  • Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • Learning & Development programs.
  • Home office equipment, tools, and reimbursement support.
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership and Tile trackers.
