Liquibase is hiring a Controller who will report directly to the CFO. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role leading the Accounting team. We are looking for a dynamic problem solver with a diverse background in accounting who will be responsible for leading our financial operations as we continue to scale the company.
What You'll Do
- Accounting Operations: Oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, payroll, billing, AR/AP, general ledger, and revenue recognition.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and industry compliance standards, mitigating financial risks.
- Audit and Tax Oversight: Drive all aspects of the annual financial audit with external auditors and partner with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of federal and state tax filings.
- Treasury and Cash Management: Manage the treasury function by overseeing bank accounts, debt facility, compliance reporting, and cash flow forecast.
- System and Process Optimization: Develop and implement scalable financial systems and processes to support company growth and efficient financial operations.
- Team Development: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture that supports business objectives.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, HR, the leadership team, and all departments to optimize financial performance and operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Deep understanding of US GAAP and the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to both finance and non-finance personnel.
- Experience managing a team and mentoring staff accountants.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks and Maxio) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience monitoring company T&E policy and expense management via Brex.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Proven experience in automating accounting processes and implementing accounting systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
