A business should feel like it’s having one conversation with Mercury, even when that conversation moves from a marketing email to a salesperson to the product itself. We’re building a new GTM Engineering function to connect those moments and help more businesses discover what Mercury can do for them.
As Senior Engineering Manager, you’ll help build a new engineering function within an established product organization. You’ll shape its technical direction and turn its early GTM engine into dependable production systems, starting with a team of 2–3 engineers. Working closely with Product, Data, Marketing, and Revenue, your first priority will be connecting product and marketing efforts so we can see what runs, understand what works, and improve it. It’s an opportunity to shape how the team works from the beginning, with Mercury’s resources and scale behind you.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You’ll investigate unfamiliar systems, build and validate early solutions, and help engineers take ownership as those solutions grow. The work spans TypeScript and Node.js services, Customer.io, Salesforce and Snowflake, with connections to Mercury’s core application and Haskell backend.
As part of this role, you will:
- Set the technical strategy for Mercury's GTM engine. Decide which capabilities to build and how they connect with existing marketing, sales and data systems.
- Build orchestration that turns product launches and ongoing GTM strategies into coordinated workflows, connecting audiences and signals to actions across channels.
- Improve the technology behind inbound and outbound sales motions, including how prospects are identified, enriched, qualified and routed, and how sales teams act on those signals.
- Make it easier to understand and improve GTM results. Build dependable workflows and measurement into the systems the team delivers, so we can identify failures, test new approaches and see what contributes to acquisition and expansion.
- Use AI to improve GTM workflows and how the team builds software. Guide capabilities from prototype to dependable use, with evaluation, testing and appropriate human review, and measure whether they improve outcomes.
Required experience:
- Strong experience in either GTM engineering (including marketing technology) or growth engineering.
- Professional engineering management experience, backed by recent hands-on engineering work.
- Practical experience using AI to build software or improve workflows, with the judgment to evaluate results and make them dependable.
- Experience shipping AI-powered GTM workflows is strongly preferred. Your domain experience and practical AI experience may come from different roles or projects.
