Operations Engineer - MUI

• We're a remote company, operating mostly asynchronously.

Why we're hiring

MUI is scaling, but traditional business operations have become a bottleneck to our growth. Rather than hiring a conventional IT team, we treat internal company operations as an engineering problem. We believe that applying systems thinking, modern software engineering, and AI automation directly to business operations will create immense leverage.

We are opening this role to act as a hands-on force multiplier across the organization—building zero-defect data models, automated internal tools, and AI-driven workflows across Finance, GTM (RevOps, Sales, Marketing), People, and Product.

Key responsibilities

• Internal systems architecture & management: Own, maintain, and connect the company's internal software stack—from CRM, billing, and accounting platforms to internal databases and analytics dashboards.
• AI & workflow automation engine: Identify, prototype, and build custom scripts (SQL, JavaScript), AI agents, and low-code integrations (e.g., Zapier, Make) to eliminate manual tasks across departments.
• GTM & RevOps technical execution: Partner with Sales and Marketing to streamline lead pipelines, customer data enrichment, conversion funnels, and website updates.
• Data Engineering & Operational analytics: Build and maintain data pipelines, operational dashboards, and data models to power strategic decision-making.
• Process engineering & Systems optimization: Apply Lean principles and systems analysis to map workflows, identify operational or financial bottlenecks, and build technological solutions.
• Technical force multiplier for Leadership: Serve as a direct execution arm for executive leadership to resolve unowned, cross-cutting technical issues.

Who we're looking for

Required

• Modern business Tech Stack management: Technical mastery over core SaaS ecosystems (Salesforce/HubSpot, Stripe, NetSuite/Xero, Segment, GitHub/npm APIs).
• Full-Stack engineering: Proficiency in TypeScript and SQL for building internal tools, scripts, and API integrations.
• Systems & Process engineering: Ability to map cross-functional workflows and apply Lean principles.
• Data engineering & Analytics architecture: Track record of designing reliable data pipelines, zero-defect data models, and BI dashboards.
• Workflow automation & AI agents: Hands-on experience with modern AI workflows and low-code orchestration engines.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years building internal tools, data pipelines, or cross-functional business automation.

Nice to have

• Prior experience as an early-stage startup founder, Technical Operations Lead, GTM Engineer, Finance Ops Engineer, or Principal Engineer.
• Experience with React, Next.js, and MUI's tool ecosystem.
• Deep familiarity with open-source ecosystems, developer tools, or PLG metrics.
