Senior Site Reliability Engineer, NetBox Delivery - NetBox Labs

About the Role

NetBox Labs is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for NetBox Delivery, a new team within our Applications group. NetBox Delivery owns the lifecycle of our software, from the NetBox Core release to a healthy, running instance on Cloud and Enterprise. You will be one of the first engineers on this team, helping to shape our infrastructure and release strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline Ownership: Manage the NetBox build and release pipeline, from base images to downstream availability.
• Release Handoff: Build seamless release processes between NetBox Core and the Cloud/Enterprise teams to ensure rapid, predictable delivery.
• Performance & Reliability: Optimize NetBox production performance, including application startup and Postgres query efficiency.
• Observability: Implement robust monitoring, alerting, and SLOs for both the application and the release pipeline.
• Incident Response: Act as the escalation point for reliability issues, driving fixes back to the source code.
• Security & Compliance: Strengthen supply chain security and support SOC 2 compliance initiatives.
• On-Call: Share on-call duties and lead incident response and postmortems.

Requirements

• 5+ years in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE with a track record of writing maintainable code.
• Production experience with Django and Postgres at scale (schema design, migrations, and performance tuning).
• Strong container build skills (base image design, Python dependency management, vulnerability scanning, and image signing).
• Hands-on experience with our stack: AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS), Kubernetes, Helm, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD/FluxCD, Terraform, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Experience with AI-augmented development workflows (e.g., Claude Code).
• Proven ability to drive cross-team initiatives, from RFC writing to implementation.

Nice to Haves

• Familiarity with the NetBox ecosystem or network automation.
• Open source contributions or project involvement.
• Experience in a B2B software startup or high-growth organization.
• Deep expertise in supply chain security (cosign, Sigstore, SLSA).
• Experience operating high-throughput systems for large enterprise customers.
