As an Open Source Developer, you will join our team that works on open source libraries for the Polkadot ecosystem.

In this role, you will be part of a new team working with the Polkadot community to develop a new open source library of OpenZeppelin Runtimes for Polkadot. You will be part of the team working with the community to define the runtime library roadmap, and to design, implement, test, and document the runtime features and supporting components. You will also have the chance to participate and present at community events to share information on OpenZeppelin’s work.What you’ll be doing

• Review smart contracts for the top decentralized applications before they get launched and present findings and vulnerabilities that the protocol can have to the client.
• Team up with one or two auditors and review code line by line and try to hack it.
• Working on proposals to make code easier to understand and use in the future by sharing good practices
• Conduct open-ended research around cutting edge blockchain technologies.
• Paid time to conduct research and contribute to OpenZeppelin’s projects and knowledge

You have

• 1-3 years of Rust programming experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Strong desire to further your education about Polkadot and contribute to the blockchain space.
• Knowledge of or experience with one or more public blockchains.
• A degree or equivalent education in computer science.
• Prior experience working remotely: strong personal organizational skills, a love for self-time management, and ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Advanced English communication skills — all of our internal and external communication is in English.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of or experience working with Polkadot runtimes, Substrate or FRAME pallets.
• Experience contributing to open source projects.
• Experience presenting at blockchain or open source community events.

Our interview process takes place on Zoom and tends to consist of the following stages:

• Recruiter call (45 minutes)
• Manager call (45 minutes)
• Team member interview (1 hour)
• Paid work test (lasting up to 10 days)
