Who We Are
Pindrop is a cybersecurity company delivering continuous identity verification across voice, video, and digital interactions. Powered by the Pindrop Intelligence Network, our unified trust platform helps enterprises answer three critical questions:
- Is this identity synthetic? Detect AI-generated and manipulated voice and video.
- Is this identity risky? Identify fraud, suspicious behavior, and other risk signals.
- Is this identity known? Authenticate identities using voice, device, behavioral, and other signals.
Pindrop brings this intelligence together across purpose-built trust engines to help organizations make informed decisions in real time — protecting customers, workforce interactions, and emerging AI-driven interactions.
Pindrop protects billions of high-risk interactions for enterprises, including leading financial institutions, insurers, and healthcare organizations. Its technology is informed by more than 8 billion real-world interactions annually and protected by 300+ patents.
Role Overview
As a Software Engineer on the Authentication team, you will help build and operate the cloud services and infrastructure behind Passport as the platform continues its migration to the cloud. You will contribute to systems that need to be reliable, scalable, performant, and secure, while working closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional partners.
This is an individual contributor role where you will take ownership of well-defined projects and services, contribute to technical decisions, and grow your expertise in cloud-native architecture and authentication systems.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, test, and maintain cloud services and workflows supporting Passport and Authentication systems using Go and Python.
- Develop and operate cloud-native services across AWS and GCP, utilizing services like Kinesis, DynamoDB, and S3.
- Apply established engineering patterns to improve service reliability, scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and design reviews, evaluating tradeoffs around latency, security, cost, and complexity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineering, test engineering, research, and product teams.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues, turning learnings into improved monitoring, alerting, runbooks, and deployments.
- Utilize modern observability tools to monitor system behavior and address operational risks.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation, including distributed after-hours support coverage.
Who You Are
- Experience: 2–5 years of software engineering experience.
- Core Languages: Strong proficiency in Golang (Go), with Python experience preferred.
- Cloud Platforms: Hands-on experience with cloud computing environments (AWS or GCP), including services like S3, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, and Kinesis.
- System Fundamentals: Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and Linux/Unix system internals.
- Data Stores: Working knowledge of data storage systems like Redis, MySQL, or NoSQL databases.
- Containers & DevOps: Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Spinnaker) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CDK) are a plus.
- Architecture: Proven track record delivering secure, production-grade microservices and RESTful APIs.
- Collaboration & Execution: Self-starter with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to navigate ambiguous problems.
30-60-90 Day Expectations
- Within 30 days: Complete team onboarding, assimilate into culture via 1:1s, and learn the product and architecture through dedicated training.
- Within 60 days: Understand team expectations, participate in sprint execution, and contribute directly to assigned projects.
- Within 90 days: Achieve solid architectural familiarity to guide technical decisions while adhering to team engineering standards.
