The Role

Quanata is seeking a Senior Software Developer in Test (SDET) Front End to design, lead, and optimize scalable automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts for web front-end products across multiple product streams.

In this role, you will drive integration, regression, and performance testing, embed automation within CI/CD pipelines, collaborate cross-functionally to refine requirements and test strategies, and advance best practices through continuous tooling innovation and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Automated Framework Development (15%): Develop and maintain automated test frameworks, tools, and scripts for web front-end products across multiple product streams.
  • Test Design & Execution (35%): Design and execute integration, regression, and performance tests using industry-standard tools. Build and enhance scalable, reusable test automation solutions and integrate testing artifacts into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration (25%): Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA teams to plan and test new features, clarifying requirements to create targeted test scenarios.
  • Tooling & Continuous Improvement (25%): Research and implement new automated testing tools and techniques following industry best practices. Proactively remove obstacles to ensure smooth test execution and delivery.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 8 years of experience in software testing roles (SDET Front End, Senior SDET, Technology Analyst, or similar).
  • Framework Design & UI Automation: 7 years of experience in test automation framework design & implementation, UI/Web UI test automation using Selenium WebDriver (or equivalent), framework research/experimentation, identifying performance bottlenecks, and programming in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or similar.
  • Integration & Regression: 5 years of experience with integration and regression testing.
  • Design Patterns & Pipelines: 4 years of experience working with BDD/POM or similar test structure patterns, and integrating test artifacts into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Databases: 2 years of experience working with SQL and databases.
  • Leadership & Agile: Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Pre-hire Assessments: Must pass a series of pre-hire technical assessments (Python coding exercise, framework design challenge, exploratory test case review, and CI/CD integration scenario).
  • Travel: Ability to travel approximately 2 times per year for team meetings or company gatherings.

Working Environment & Core Hours

  • Remote-First: Work from anywhere in the contiguous United States. Optional office access available in San Francisco, CA or Providence, RI.
  • Core Hours: Core meeting hours are maintained from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Pacific Time to support cross-timezone collaboration.
