We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our global payroll team and support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across multiple countries. This is a hands-on operational role focused on payroll processing, validation, reconciliation, and issue resolution. You'll collaborate with internal teams and payroll partners to review results, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate outputs for clients and employees. While expertise in every country isn't required, strong payroll fundamentals, experience managing payroll for at least one country, and the ability to quickly understand new requirements are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing and validation for multiple countries.
- Collect, review, and validate payroll inputs and outputs.
- Perform payroll reconciliations and identify discrepancies between expected and final results.
- Investigate payroll differences and work with internal teams or payroll partners to understand and resolve them.
- Support payroll changes including new hires, terminations, salary changes, bonuses, deductions, and leave.
- Review payroll calculations and supporting information for accuracy.
- Communicate with internal payroll teams and external partners to resolve payroll questions.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, documentation, and trackers.
- Work with payroll technology and automated validation tools to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Learn and support additional countries as our global payroll operations continue to evolve.
Qualifications
- Previous hands-on payroll experience, ideally including in-house payroll processing.
- Experience managing payroll for at least one country independently.
- Strong understanding of payroll inputs, calculations, validations, reconciliations, and outputs.
- Ability to investigate discrepancies and understand why payroll results have changed.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence working with payroll data and numbers.
- Comfortable using payroll systems, Excel/Google Sheets, and automated tools.
- Strong English communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams and payroll partners.
- Comfortable learning new systems and adapting to evolving payroll processes.
Nice to Have
- Payroll experience in one or more of the following countries: France, Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, or Spain.
- Experience with Romania or Austria payroll.
- Experience managing payroll across multiple countries.
- Exposure to additional European or African payroll jurisdictions.
- Experience with payroll platforms or systems such as ADP or similar tools.
- Experience using automated payroll validation, reconciliation, or AI-enabled tools.
