About WorkOS π
WorkOS builds modern developer tools and APIs that make it easy for companies to become Enterprise Ready. Our platform powers authentication, identity, authorization, and other critical infrastructure that developers need to securely scale their products to large organizations.
We recently raised a $100M Series C, valuing the company at $2B, led by Meritech and Sapphire with participation from Greenoaks, Craft, Abstract, and Audacious. WorkOS powers enterprise features for many of the fastest-growing AI companies, including OpenAI, Cursor, Perplexity, Sierra, and Plaid.
About the role π
The Product Design team shapes the interfaces and experiences that developers interact with every day β from the Dashboard and Admin Portal to AuthKit and our developer documentation. We own the design system (WorkDS and Radix) and partner with product engineers to deliver consistent, intuitive, and delightful experiences across every surface.
Our designers obsess over the developer experience, spot opportunities to raise the bar, and drive initiatives end-to-end. We engage directly with customers, discover new perspectives to inform the products we build, and ship code to production. We're looking for a designer who shares a product-minded, systems-driven approach and defaults to working in the open and seeking feedback. We embrace a range of AI tools throughout our workflow, leaning on emerging technologies to improve our workflows and create product innovation.
Responsibilities βοΈ
- Lead greenfield initiatives end-to-end β research, scoping, definition, prototyping, implementation, and iteration β working directly with engineering to solve complex technical problems.
- Improve existing products across the entire platform (WorkOS Dashboard, Admin Portal, AuthKit, and more), with a focus on usability, accessibility, performance, and consistency.
- Engage directly with customers to get feedback, uncover friction, and transform findings into scalable, reusable patterns and flows.
- Contribute to our design system in Figma and code (WorkDS and Radix), creating, adapting, and deprecating patterns.
- Experiment with AI tools and emerging workflows to accelerate exploration and prototyping.
- Collaborate across product design, brand design, engineering, solutions engineering, and go-to-market to define, shape, and ship products.
Qualifications π
- 7+ years designing platforms and/or complex products with information-dense interfaces. Experience with developer tools, enterprise software, or technical B2B products is preferred.
- Demonstrated systems thinking: knowing when to create, adapt, or deprecate design patterns.
- Ability to account for real-world complexity β edge cases, error/empty states, accessibility, and technical constraints.
- Strong articulation of design decisions, alternatives, and tradeoffs.
- Experience running user research and translating feedback into insights.
- Proficiency with Figma and curiosity for emerging tools and workflows.
- Front-end code familiarity to contribute directly to the design system and ship improvements.
- Proactive mindset with a default to working in public.
