About the Role

As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) at Affect, you will be a crucial part of our collaborative care team, working alongside counselors, therapists, and case managers. This role involves delivering evidence-based treatment in a fully virtual environment to individuals managing substance use and mental health disorders.

Affect focuses on substance-specific care, primarily prescribing Suboxone for Opioid Use Disorder and not other controlled substances. We offer comprehensive training in our treatment methodology, while clinical decisions are ultimately at the provider's discretion in collaboration with the member.

For this full-time position, we are seeking providers with a strong background in mental health. While experience with substance use disorder treatment and Suboxone prescribing is valued, confidence in assessing and managing complex mental health conditions is essential.

Please note: This full-time position requires an active, unrestricted PMHNP license in Illinois.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and follow-up telehealth evaluations.
• Provide comprehensive care for both substance use and mental health conditions.
• Prescribe medications as appropriate and address member inquiries.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation within our EHR (Healthie).
• Collaborate effectively with your care team and participate in scheduled team meetings.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in Illinois. Medicaid enrollment is a plus.
• Active license in your state of residence, if different from Illinois.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience; experience in addiction or mental health is preferred, though strong candidates with less experience will be considered.
• Experience prescribing Suboxone and an active DEA registration.
• Willingness to obtain additional state licenses (costs covered by Affect).
• Demonstrated strong empathy for individuals navigating behavioral health challenges.
• Comfort and proficiency in using technology, including EHRs and mobile applications.

Additional Information

This is a fully remote position. Candidates must maintain a private, quiet workspace and have a reliable internet connection to conduct HIPAA-compliant telehealth visits. The role may involve occasional internal meetings. Reasonable accommodations are available as needed.
