About Aptible

Aptible is a cloud delivery platform that automates security, compliance, and reliability for engineering teams handling sensitive data. We are a small, talented team helping DevOps evolve to meet the pressures of AI-assisted development.

The Role

We are looking for a Senior II or Staff Software Engineer to build end-to-end product features with a significant focus on frontend development. You will combine customer-facing UI/API work with improvements to internal developer workflows and system reliability.

What You'll Do

  • Fullstack Development: Ship features across our stack, including Ruby on Rails (backend), React-TypeScript (web app), Go (Terraform client), and Ruby (CLI).
  • Frontend Ownership: Set the direction for our React-TypeScript web app, including maintenance and AI-assisted development strategies.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Product and Design to define requirements, build a shared component library, and deliver high-quality increments.
  • Developer Experience: Improve internal tooling, local development workflows, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Reliability: Participate in on-call rotations, contribute to observability, and drive incident response improvements.
  • AI Integration: Use AI tools to improve development velocity while maintaining a pragmatic, risk-aware approach.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Proven track record as a fullstack engineer with significant depth in frontend (React, component architecture, state management, accessibility).
  • Communication: Clear, proactive, and effective communication skills.
  • Technical Versatility: Strong fundamentals; ability to pick up new languages quickly and work across cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.
  • Product Taste: Experience acting as a go-to resource for Product Design and Management during planning.
  • Startup Mindset: Ability to navigate ambiguity, take ownership, and collaborate effectively in a small team.
  • Location: Must be located in the contiguous United States.
