Sr. Technical Program Manager - Backblaze

Backblaze is the object storage leader in the open cloud movement, fueling customer success with cloud storage built purposefully to unlock budgets, unburden administrators, and unleash innovators. We're seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager to join our growing PMO team, with a focus on program delivery, driving portfolio management, and operating model practices.

What You'll Do

• Drive program planning and execution through program management best practices, manage risk and dependencies across multiple programs and teams.
• Drive portfolio management practices as required, which includes overseeing the portfolio delivery pipeline across multiple projects, from incoming requests to evaluation/discovery to successful delivery.
• Ensure cross-functional alignment on program goals, strategy, scope, timelines, decisions, and outcomes.
• Apply your technical skill set as an active contributor in technical requirements and design conversations with the program teams.
• Foster a culture of transparency and trust, apply lean value-driven approaches, manage by influence, and support and empower technical teams through servant leadership.
• Ensure strong lines of communication and regular updates to stakeholders.
• In partnership with other TPMs, participate in the implementation of continuous cross-functional process improvement initiatives.

The Right Fit

• 5+ years of Program, Portfolio, and Process Management experience.
• A combination of a strong technical background and leadership.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable operating in high uncertainty environments, with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources and teams into a structured program roadmap.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage by influence, identify underlying issues, solve problems, and manage conflicts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Atlassian and Google product suites is a plus.
• Highly detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow-through skills.
