Through a single app, Bicycle Health combines Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) with behavioral healthcare, drug screening, therapy, and peer support.
About the Role
The Recovery Coach plays a vital role in supporting patients with opioid use disorder by providing peer-based recovery support as part of the Bicycle Health care team. You will meet with clients regularly, document visits, provide peer support, and review recovery goals. This position focuses on engagement, motivation, and advocacy, helping patients navigate their recovery journey.
Schedule & Training
- Work Schedule: Saturday–Sunday 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM EST and Monday–Wednesday 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM EST.
- Training Schedule: First 4 weeks, Monday–Friday 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a key point of contact between established clients and the Bicycle Health program.
- Offer peer-based support through one-on-one coaching and facilitation of peer support groups.
- Document visits in real-time within the electronic health record (EHR) to medical-provider quality standards.
- Utilize patient management tools to track client progress, maintain engagement between medical visits, and document participation in treatment.
- Engage clients in conversation and education about substance use, treatment, and recovery.
- Share relevant community, online, and support resources to help clients achieve their recovery goals.
- Identify and communicate barriers to care to appropriate clinical team members.
- Apply the Motivational Interviewing framework consistently in all client interactions.
- Maintain close, efficient communication with medical providers and support staff.
- Understand and support program quality improvement metrics.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a peer recovery coach, peer support worker, or addiction counselor.
- At least 1 year of experience conducting virtual recovery groups.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical practice or behavioral health field, including EHR documentation and direct communication with medical providers.
- Lived/Personal Experience: Personal experience with substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery—either through your own recovery journey or through close personal/professional relationships with individuals in SUD care.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills tailored for diverse audiences.
- High cultural awareness, responsiveness, and understanding of client confidentiality requirements.
- Strong commitment to practicing self-care while supporting individuals with complex needs.
- Proven ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary team aligned around company goals.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the US full-time and physically reside in the United States.

Compensation & Benefits
- Target Pay: $23.00 – $25.00 / hour
