Who is Boulevard?
Boulevard provides the first and only client experience platform for appointment-based, self-verse businesses. We empower our customers to give their clients more of the magical moments that matter most. Our roots may be in hair salons, but we are built for the broader self-care industry, including salons, spas, medspas, and barbershops.
We are looking for a Staff Data Scientist to build Boulevard’s Product Intelligence function and own its core responsibilities. This role requires someone who is genuinely energized by ambiguity — defining questions, building infrastructure, and charting the course forward without a well-worn path.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Product Data Foundation: Partner across Product Development to define event schemas, tracking plans, and design models/tech stack for clean, reliable analysis-ready assets.
- Data-Driven Strategy: Partner with Product to develop data-driven recommendations that inform strategy through engaging narratives and visualizations for audiences from ICs to executives.
- Operationalize Product Analytics: Build scalable, intuitive self-serve dashboards (Sigma, Looker, Tableau) and connect product analytics to OKRs and business outcomes.
- Exploratory & Deep-Dive Analysis: Own deep dives (funnel analysis, retention curves, cohort behavior, feature adoption) to up-level understanding of customer product usage.
- End-to-End Experimentation: Own the experimentation practice for Product Development, designing A/B and quasi-experiments (Statsig, Optimizely), running analysis, and delivering clear reads on impact.
- Behavioral Modeling: Apply statistical and machine learning methods (propensity, churn risk, segmentation, time-to-value) to explain and predict customer behavior.
- Productionize Models: Partner with data engineering to schedule, monitor, version, and deploy models into production workflows (Gainsight, Salesforce, in-product).
What You’ll Need to Thrive
- 8+ years of proven experience in data science, product analytics, or engineering in a B2B SaaS or high-growth environment.
- Fluency with SQL, Python / Jupyter notebooks, Snowflake, DBT, Sigma, and AWS infrastructure.
- Direct experience designing product instrumentation strategies and authoring tracking plans.
- Deep hands-on statistical and machine learning expertise applied to customer behavior.
- Proven track record owning experimentation end-to-end and building production-grade data pipelines.
- Clear, confident communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional leadership.
