
About the Role
Cloudforce One is Cloudflare’s threat operations and research team, responsible for identifying and disrupting cyber threats ranging from sophisticated cyber criminal activity to nation-state sponsored advanced persistent threats (APTs). As a Software Engineer on this team, you will own the entire software development lifecycle—from design and architecture to deployment and monitoring—for systems that serve both threat disruption and legal response efforts.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, run, and scale distributed tools and services that support cyber threat disruption and platform abuse efforts.
- Develop critical data pipelines to collect, analyze, and expose threat intelligence data (TTPs and IOCs).
- Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, Trust & Safety, Legal, and Product teams to translate technical requirements into scalable solutions.
- Improve system design and architecture for stability, performance, and maintainability.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address technical issues.
- Mentor and guide other developers, promoting best practices for well-tested, modular code.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems.
- 3+ years of experience working with Threat Intelligence or related platforms.
- Proficiency in Go and/or TypeScript; familiarity with Rust.
- Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and/or gRPC services.
- Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Experience with AI-assisted development and agentic AI workflows.
- Excellent debugging, optimization, and testing skills.
Bonus Points
- Deep understanding of DNS, TLS/SSL, and HTTP.
- Expertise in web security and access control standards.
- Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, React, or Redis.
