Our Platform

Our mobile apps are built with Swift and Kotlin. Our frontend uses React, and our backend relies on Elixir and increasingly Python. GenAI has significantly impacted our system architecture, shifting our products from AI-augmented to a full AI-first platform.

You Are

A Mobile Principal Software Engineer who will lead our mobile team to meet the shifting demands of a full AI-first platform on a timeline measured in weeks, not quarters. You are deeply hands-on with AI coding agents, using them to ship serious work rather than just autocomplete. You are comfortable architecting a thin mobile client backed by a powerful API as well as diving into our Python backend with AI assistance to add mobile capabilities.

You bring Principal/Staff-level scope as a product engineer with 10+ years of experience evolving and standing up apps across product and technical dimensions. You have a proven track record of leading technical improvements, mentoring other developers, and setting your own direction with minimal input.

What You Will Do

• Lead our mobile team and drive its maturity and evolution in the AI-native space.
• Stand up an AI-native development process for the mobile team (agents, evals, review loops) to sustain rapid delivery.
• Drive a thin-client architecture for the participant experience, pushing business logic to the backend.
• Contribute Python code to our AI backend service when mobile needs new capabilities using AI agents.
• Set our participant API and broader participant platform direction beyond the mobile team.
• Spend ~70% of your time supporting your product team and ~30% on self-directed leadership and platform improvements.
• Apply a DevOps mindset to improve the Continuous Delivery pipeline and overall SaaS/mobile operational aspects.
• Participate in security and compliance efforts (SOC II & HITRUST certified).

What You Need to Have

• Significant experience as a mobile software engineer with Principal/Staff-level scope.
• Experience with both iOS and Android, and a willingness to work outside the mobile ecosystem when required.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) and an opinion on designing an SDLC around them.
• Strong system architecture background (backend API design, databases, mobile DevOps, design trade-offs).
• Proven track record of leading, mentoring, and growing engineers.
• Expertise with cloud-based SaaS architectures and evolutionary design.
• Familiarity with agile, DevOps, CI/CD, observability/tracing, and data-driven decision making.
