Staff DevOps Engineer - Duetto

What You'll Be Doing

• Design and build scalable, secure, highly available AWS infrastructure for critical systems, prioritizing automation, uptime, and reliability.
• Partner with developers on architecture decisions to improve the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of servers and applications.
• Maintain security by default: address vulnerabilities early and raise cybersecurity readiness.
• Serve as the last line of support for customer-facing 24/7 services, joining a weekly on-call rotation, troubleshooting incidents, and leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Build automation and tooling used across engineering, while mentoring DevOps engineers across the company.
• Help integrate AI into DevOps and SRE workflows.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years in an Ops, DevOps, or SRE role, with proven system design and architecture experience.
• Hands-on AWS expertise (IAM, VPC, EC2, ELB, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, Secrets Manager, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail), including multi-account management, permissions structures, and SSO. Azure/GCP experience is welcome.
• Engineer-level knowledge of networking and security, alongside solid load balancing fundamentals.
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) skills with Terraform in a multi-user environment.
• Experience with CI/CD and deployment automation tooling (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, JFrog Artifactory, GitOps).
• Experience operating enterprise monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog.
• Track record of resolving complex on-call incidents and leading RCAs to lasting resolution.
• Comfort reading Java, Ruby, Bash/Zsh, HCL, Python, and JavaScript.
• Service reliability mindset with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Nice to Have

• Layer 7 load balancing experience.
• Container orchestration experience (ECS/EKS).
• Configuration management experience (Chef or Puppet).
• SOC2 compliance experience.
• Familiarity with our tech stack: Java, Python, NoSQL, MongoDB, Postgres, React, Terraform/Terragrunt, Chef, DataDog, and Prometheus.
