Engineering Manager, Dedicated Integrations - GitLab

We're looking for a technical engineering manager to lead a team building and operating large-scale distributed systems. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with strong operational instincts and a passion for building high-performing teams.

You will lead the Dedicated Platform Integration team, responsible for the integration of third-party and modular features in the GitLab ecosystem, for Dedicated platform hosted SaaS.

Key Responsibilities

• Execution & Delivery: Enable effective execution with Quality and Speed, in partnership with the team’s Product Manager.
• Infrastructure Availability: Ensure 3+ 9s availability of Dedicated infrastructure, ensuring security and automating for maximum scalability and number of tenants.
• Team Leadership: Provide clear direction, meaningful feedback, and foster an environment where meaningless toil gets ruthlessly automated and DevOps ownership is enforced.
• Platform Optimization: Continuously improve owned artifacts to optimize platforms for self-service ownership of production for feature implementers.
• Talent Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop excellent and productive team members.
• Technical Role Model: Provide Proof of Concepts, maintain an agentic mindset, and drive extreme simplification of processes and removal of human toil.
• Incident Management: Role model Incident Management best practices, lead in fast resolutions and escalations, and train/codify best practices across GitLab.
• Data-Driven Strategy: Apply a data-driven approach to prioritization, impact quantification, and management of risk and technical debt. Use AI to demonstrate concepts and translate technical complexity to drive stakeholder decisions.
