Staff Fullstack Engineer (Ruby/Vue.js) Monetization Engineering: Purchase - GitLab

About the Role

As a Staff Fullstack Engineer on the Purchase team, you will own the end-to-end purchase experience for GitLab products. You will work across the frontend and backend to build interfaces for new purchases, upgrades, and self-service discounts, while managing the services that process transactions and integrate with billing and CRM systems.

This is a technical leadership role where you will set the direction for unified purchase flows, mentor engineers, and collaborate with Product, Design, and Finance teams.

What You’ll Do

• Technical Leadership: Lead technical design for new purchasing capabilities and unified experiences.
• Fullstack Development: Build and maintain features using Ruby on Rails and Vue.js.
• System Integration: Ensure purchase flows integrate safely and accurately with downstream billing and CRM systems (e.g., Zuora, Salesforce, Stripe).
• Engineering Standards: Uphold high standards for code quality, testing, rollout safety, and monitoring.
• Mentorship: Review merge requests and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Incident Response: Participate in on-call rotations for purchase-related issues due to their direct revenue impact.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify and reduce technical debt and architectural risks.

What You’ll Bring
