
About the Role
We’re looking for a Staff Product Analyst to join our growing Product Analytics team and serve as a strategic partner to Grafana’s AI organization. This role supports teams building Grafana Assistant, Investigations, and AI observability solutions.
You will shape how the AI team measures success by defining KPIs, improving measurement practices, guiding experiment design, and translating data into actionable product recommendations.
You Will
- Strategy: Partner cross-functionally to establish top-level KPIs, dashboards, and product roadmap planning.
- Measurement: Define success metrics for AI-powered experiences, including adoption, engagement, quality, and retention.
- Instrumentation: Guide product data instrumentation in collaboration with Design, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Experimentation: Design, evaluate, and interpret experiments to assess the impact of new AI capabilities.
- Data Modeling: Develop dbt models to transform and test user behavior data.
- Leadership: Influence best practices for Product Analytics and contribute to the long-term vision and strategy for the team.
You Have
- Experience partnering across product and engineering organizations with familiarity in KPIs (DAU/MAU, funnels, A/B testing).
- Proven ability to define and track success metrics for complex AI-powered features.
- Advanced SQL proficiency.
- Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, Omni, Hex, or Grafana).
- Proficiency in dbt, product analytics tooling (e.g., Amplitude, Heap, Pendo), and git.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) for prototyping and analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of observability.
- Familiarity with Airflow or Prefect for ad-hoc ETL jobs.
