About Product Management

As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you'll develop a vision and strategy for your product domain. You will own the experience for your product as well as its roadmap and competitive positioning, collaborating with leadership on product goals. You will be the primary advocate and expert in your area, communicating needs, functionality, and details effectively both to external customers and internal stakeholders. Teams are 100% remote and globally distributed, making proactive communication essential.

Product Managers connect R&D to GTM, facilitating the free flow of information across teams while remaining technically proficient when representing products to customers.

The Role

As the Staff Product Manager for Enterprise Deployment Solutions, you'll own the Grafana Labs offerings that run outside standard multi-tenant SaaS. That includes Grafana Federal Cloud, for organizations needing FedRAMP-authorized observability (US federal agencies, SLED customers, and commercial companies selling FedRAMP offerings), and Grafana Cloud Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC), which delivers the full Grafana Cloud experience while the customer pays infrastructure costs directly to their cloud provider.

Your mission is to make Grafana Labs the obvious choice for organizations unable to use standard SaaS due to compliance, data, or cost-at-scale constraints. You’ll be responsible for adapting existing Grafana Cloud capabilities to these environments, deciding on feature availability, building custom deployment capabilities, and helping shape future deployment models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Grafana BYOC and Grafana Federal Cloud, using product data and market research to balance customer value against engineering cost and technical constraints
  • Own positioning, messaging, and differentiation for these products compared to standard Grafana Cloud; partner with Product Marketing on launches, competitive analysis, enablement, and demand programs
  • Partner with Engineering and Technical Program Management on buildouts for these environments, balancing customer timelines with engineering capacity
  • Work directly with customers, prospects, and the field on strategic deals; brief partners, resellers, and analysts on deployment options
  • Partner with Security, Compliance, and Legal to address product changes affecting authorizations or customer commitments
  • Use AI tools daily to accelerate research, analyze product signals, and develop positioning

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience on a technical B2B product, or a technical background (software engineering, solutions architecture, SRE, or TPM) with a demonstrated move into product ownership
  • Hands-on experience with non-standard SaaS deployment models (e.g., self-managed, air-gapped, sovereign, BYOC, single-tenant, or FedRAMP/government cloud) and understanding of their impact on product architecture, operations, and economics
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, platform software, or developer tools
  • Clear product and go-to-market judgment spanning positioning, pricing, and packaging, not just feature delivery
  • Interest in working with US public sector customers and learning their buying cycles (deep compliance expertise is not required)
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams without direct authority, with strong written and verbal communication skills in a remote, globally distributed setting

Bonus Points

  • Experience selling to or building for US federal, state, or local government customers, or other highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with government/sovereign cloud frameworks (FedRAMP, StateRAMP/GovRAMP, BSI C5, SecNumCloud) or environments (AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, AWS European Sovereign Cloud, GCP Sovereign Cloud)
  • Experience with pricing and packaging across deployment models
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, or other data-intensive infrastructure products
  • Experience working with resellers, systems integrators, or cloud marketplace partners
  • Familiarity with open source software or commercial open source companies
