About the Role

As we continue to grow JumpCloud internationally, we are hiring a Staff Software Engineer for JumpCloud India. You’ll play a key role in the success and development of our engineering teams in addition to growing your own career. We are seeking a senior engineer who is passionate about building great products with a forward-looking vision. You will be responsible for building new technology initiatives, driving architecture, defining best practices, and enabling platform quality.

What You'll Be Doing

• Regularly tackle the largest and most complex problems on the team, serving as a technical leader on cross-functional projects.
• Work with limited visibility of requirements, carrying out independent research and experiments while collaborating with UX and Product Managers to define requirements.
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions.
• Exert technical influence to help teams build highly available, reliable, and performant solutions.
• Work alongside other Principal Engineers and Architects to drive a shared strategy across teams.
• Partner across engineering and product management teams to empower initiatives impacting multiple teams.
• Assist in the career development of others, actively mentoring individuals on advanced technical issues.
• Balance technical leadership with strong business judgment to make optimal technology choices.
• Participate in on-call shifts to respond to system alerts.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 12+ years of software engineering experience leading complex engineering projects.
• Tech Stack: Strong knowledge of Go and familiarity with Java, TypeScript, or other programming languages.
• Domain Expertise: Deep domain knowledge of Device Management architectures (policy management, enrollment, Apple Push Notification service) across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), containerization (Kubernetes), microservices, SaaS architecture, and CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitHub Actions).
• Distributed Systems: Strong experience designing and architecting solutions in distributed systems environments, including databases and front-end integration.
• Leadership: Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with the ability to work through ambiguity and drive clarity while delivering incremental value.
• Location & Language: Must be located in and authorized to work in India, with fluent written and spoken English skills.
