Senior Insurance Business Analyst - Kin

The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Insurance Business Analyst to help us turn insurance product decisions into systems that work exactly as intended. This role sits at the intersection of insurance product development, operations, and technical delivery. You will own the requirements lifecycle for new products, state launches, endorsements, coverage changes, forms, rating updates, and compliance requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Requirements Lifecycle: Own the process from initial discovery through implementation-ready handoff to Engineering and Tech Product.
• Translation: Translate business decisions (filings, forms, rating algorithms, eligibility rules) into clear functional specifications.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Actuarial, Underwriting, Compliance, Claims, and Engineering to maintain alignment.
• Documentation: Define current-state processes, future-state workflows, and manage requirements changes.
• Gap Analysis: Identify edge cases, dependencies, and downstream impacts across rating, policy administration, and billing before development begins.
• Quality Assurance: Lead UAT planning, test scenarios, and beta-validation to confirm product changes are implemented correctly.

What You’ll Bring

• 5+ years of experience in a business analyst or systems analyst role.
• 3+ years of experience in P&C insurance.
• Proven ability to translate insurance product concepts into structured business and functional requirements.
• Experience producing user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and data mappings.
• Strong track record of partnering with Engineering teams in an Agile or iterative delivery environment.
• Ability to synthesize input from multiple stakeholders and surface ambiguity early.

Bonus Points

• Experience at a direct-to-consumer insurer, insurtech, or MGA.
• Knowledge of policy administration systems.
• Industry designations (CPCU, AINS).
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, or Smartsheet.
