KMA products are global leaders in utilities, lifestyle, and health & fitness niches (AI Remodel, Printer, Botan, Calorie Counter, and others), occupying top spots in the App Store.

KMA grows at least 3x year-over-year, and we are looking for leaders who want to scale technology alongside the business and directly impact its development.

We are looking for an Engineering Lead to head the technical direction across several product units, build engineering processes and standards practically from scratch, and hold a real mandate for technical decision-making.

The Role

This is a hands-on role with direct leadership of the development team and a mandate for architectural decisions without unnecessary approvals. You will see the broader business picture—product, marketing, analytics—and create technical solutions that drive maximum impact.

Your Responsibilities

• Build and develop the engineering direction practically from scratch (web).
• Formulate engineering processes, standards, and scalable approaches across product units.
• Take technical ownership of the direction and drive key technical decisions.
• Directly manage technical leads of product units: set business goals, mentor, provide feedback, and support growth.
• Identify and systematically resolve technical bottlenecks through new engineering practices, automation, and AI.
• Help product teams make optimal decisions where strong technical expertise is required.
• Collaborate with company platform teams to formulate technical requests and optimal solutions.
• Scale successful engineering solutions across products and units.
• Deeply dive into the technical context of new directions and take ownership of their launch.
• Be hands-on when the situation requires it.

What We Expect

Engineering & Leadership

• 4+ years of commercial development experience.
• 2+ years of direct engineering team management.
• Strong hands-on engineering background.
• Experience building or substantially refactoring end-to-end product architecture: web + backend.
• Ability to independently make technical and architectural decisions.
• Experience translating business context into technical solutions and roadmaps.
• Experience working with product teams and understanding the impact of engineering on business metrics.
• Experience utilizing AI in development and a desire to foster an AI-first engineering approach.

Tech Stack

• Backend development experience with Node.js.
• Database proficiency: complex queries, indexing, working with large tables.
• Cross-platform understanding to independently resolve necessary tasks.
• Understanding of mobile and web product lifecycles.
• Understanding of AI/LLM integration into production products.

Product Engineering

• Understanding of how technical decisions affect product metrics and business results.
• Experience with product analytics and A/B testing (Amplitude or equivalents).
• Experience using data and product analytics for technical decision-making.
• Understanding of the full product development lifecycle from ideation to scaling.
• Experience with monitoring, stability, and performance tools (Sentry, Grafana or equivalents).
• Ability to evaluate technical issues through user, product, and business impact.
