Software Engineer, Integrations - Lumos

Every breach, every failed audit, every new hire stuck in onboarding purgatory traces back to the same question: who has access to what — and should they?

Identity is where modern companies break. Too much access leaks data. Too little grinds the business to a halt. Lumos is the industry's first Autonomous Identity Platform — software that doesn't just surface access risk, but acts on it. We started with a self-service AppStore and grew into the critical infrastructure connecting apps, identities, and data for GitHub, MongoDB, Mars, Pinterest, Anduril, Intercom, Roku, and Netskope. At the center is Albus, our AI agent for identity — mining roles, approving access, and catching the drift humans miss.

You'll ship work that thousands of IT and security teams touch every day. You'll own problems without playbooks, because the category is being redefined in real time — by us.

🔦 Overall Description

Lumos is making it a joy for companies to manage their apps and identities. By integrating usage, spend, compliance, and access data, we provide a level of clarity and insight previously unimaginable. To deliver a best-in-class product, Lumos depends on state-of-the-art data pipelines that power our analytics and AI-driven solutions.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help drive the evolution of our Integrations Platform—the core foundation that enables Lumos to connect with the tools and systems our customers rely on. From cloud identity providers and HR systems to on-prem applications and ITSMs, your work will power the seamless, secure, and scalable flow of data and permissions across enterprise environments.

You’ll play a key role in designing and building robust connector frameworks, integration infrastructure, and developer-facing tools that deliver top-tier reliability and a great developer experience. You’ll collaborate with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to scale our platform’s capabilities while shaping how developers—both inside and outside Lumos—build on top of it.

We’re a startup that values ownership, curiosity, and trust—and we’re looking for teammates who thrive on solving hard systems problems with empathy and creativity.

✨ Your Responsibilities

  • Design and implement core components of our Integrations Platform, including APIs, event-driven systems, and connector orchestration layers that support a wide range of cloud and on-prem integrations.
  • Build and extend our integration framework, enabling reusable patterns for authentication, job retries, error handling, observability, and developer onboarding.
  • Work across teams to deliver high-performance, secure, and maintainable integrations with external systems such as Okta, Workday, Azure AD, ServiceNow, and more.
  • Contribute to a delightful developer experience by building SDKs, CLI tools, and documentation that accelerate integration development both internally and externally.
  • Drive key technical decisions and lead by example—through architecture reviews, mentoring, and pairing with other engineers on complex problems.
  • Champion resilience, observability, and scalability in every layer of the integrations stack.

🙌 What We Value

We're looking for engineers who think like platform builders and care deeply about the craft and clarity of their work. If you’re energized by designing reusable systems and creating tools that unlock others, you’ll thrive here.

  • Strong experience as a backend or platform engineer, with 5+ years of experience building scalable services, APIs, or integrations.
  • Experience working with enterprise integration patterns—including webhooks, event queues, third-party APIs, and hybrid (cloud/on-prem) environments.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages (e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript) and strong knowledge of API design, system performance, and software architecture.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management systems, such as SCIM, OAuth2, SAML, or integrating with IDPs and HRIS tools.
  • A thoughtful approach to developer experience, both in the systems you build and how you communicate technical decisions.
  • A bias toward action, a high bar for quality, and a track record of shipping platform features that scale well and are loved by other developers.
