With Mercury’s continued progress toward becoming a chartered bank, establishing a strong and forward-looking prudential compliance program is a key part of building a durable, regulator-ready foundation.
In this role, you will report to our Director, Bank Regulatory Compliance and will steward the implementation and operation of a scalable, regulator-ready prudential regulatory compliance program to support bank charter readiness, beginning with Regulations W and O. This role combines strategic program design with operational execution, ensuring Mercury can establish and run a prudential compliance program aligned with regulatory expectations and a digital-first business model.

What You’ll Do

- Interface directly with and advise Mercury’s senior management on permissibility / advisability of proposed transactions
- Engage and partner deeply with stakeholders across the organization including Legal, Finance, People/HR, Credit, etc.
- Play a pivotal role in shaping how some of Mercury’s most business critical transactions come together in a safe and sound manner
- Educate and grow Mercury’s compliance culture, awareness of prudential regulatory obligations, and best in-class practices via training and guidance to bank staff regarding prudential regulatory requirements
- Maintain records and documentation on all prudential regulatory compliance activities and programs
What You Should Have
- 5-7+ years of experience in building and/or operating prudential compliance programs including Regulations W and O and have a strong understanding of prudential regulations and regulatory expectations
- Well-versed in representing program outputs and decisions to senior executives, internal auditors, prudential regulators, and other third parties / stakeholders
- Approach your work with a high quality bar and a strong sense of ownership - you see things through to completion and don’t settle
- Bring a collaborative, problem-solving mindset to your work, have strong stakeholder management skills, and an ability to influence without direct authority
- Excited about using technology, including artificial intelligence, to enhance your capabilities and advance the profession in ways others may never even think of
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience working in quantitative fields including finance, credit, and/or strategic operations
