Principal Delivery Manager, Portfolio - Mission Lane

Mission Lane combines data, technology, and exceptional service to help millions achieve financial success. By attracting top talent and leveraging cutting-edge technology, we enable people to unlock real financial progress.

We're looking for a Principal Delivery Manager to own delivery across Portfolio Management, reporting to the Senior Director, Portfolio Prioritization & Delivery.

The Impact You'll Make

Imagine a customer who has paid on time for months; Mission Lane notices, their credit line grows, and the app guides them on next steps. This experience originates in Portfolio Management, where credit line decisions and customer progress recognition programs are designed and refined.

As Principal Delivery Manager, Portfolio Management, you will shape how this work is planned, sequenced, and delivered. Your challenge will be to maintain momentum and rigor while the optimal delivery structure is still evolving.

Mission Lane is establishing its first dedicated delivery team, and you will set the standard for how Portfolio Management delivers. Within a year, the teams you collaborate with will operate using a delivery approach you built and championed.

What You'll Own

  • The delivery strategy and model for Portfolio Management, including how work is planned, tracked, reviewed, and communicated to executives, all built around the outcomes its internal customers need.
  • Creatively adapting delivery methods to drive faster impact across the organization as technology and working models rapidly shift.
  • Delivery discovery for multi-team initiatives, ensuring large commitments are scoped and de-risked before work begins.
  • Coordination across every team Portfolio Management interacts with, proactively surfacing dependencies and unknowns, and identifying and resolving complex cross-team problems.
  • The engagement model for Portfolio Management, covering execution planning, release planning, and how teams maintain alignment with each other and with executive leadership.
  • Delivery standards for Portfolio Management, derived from the recurring themes observed across its work.
  • Informal guidance for fellow Delivery Managers as delivery practice matures within the organization.

You'll Thrive in This Role If

  • You are passionate about reimagining how we work through the seamless integration of process, technology, and human connection.
  • You are comfortable starting without a predefined playbook.
  • You define what "good" looks like, test it with the teams doing the work, and refine it until it becomes ingrained.
  • You identify connections across teams, including those outside Portfolio Management, and anticipate dependencies before they cause delays.
  • You make sound sequencing and priority calls as the situation develops, and you clearly articulate your reasoning.
  • You partner with executive leadership on delivery trade-offs and present clear recommendations in every discussion.
  • You are a recognized authority on delivery practice. Leaders seek your clear answers to delivery questions, and you help define the metrics that gauge delivery performance.
  • You guide other delivery professionals through coaching and example, and the practices you shape are adopted by the teams you work with.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience delivering complex, cross-functional programs, including initiatives that span multiple organizations.
  • Track record of building delivery structure, processes, or engagement models where no established approach existed, and successfully seeing them adopted.
  • Experience defining delivery metrics or standards that were later adopted beyond the team that created them.
  • Experience coordinating across organizations, anticipating unknowns, and managing late changes without disrupting work.
  • Strong executive-level communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience informally guiding or coaching other delivery professionals without formal management authority.
  • Ability to travel ~4+ times per year for high quality in-person collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with portfolio management, capital allocation, or credit portfolio functions.
  • Experience standing up a new function, process, or center of excellence.
  • Experience in financial services, fintech, or another regulated industry.

Compensation

The annual full-time starting base salary range is $145,000 - $188,000.

This role is eligible for additional compensation in the forms of participation in our annual incentive and equity programs. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.

Mission Lane also offers a comprehensive benefits plan, which includes:

  • Paid time off
  • 401(k) match
  • Monthly wellness stipend
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options
  • Disability coverage
  • Paid parental leave
  • Flexible spending account (for childcare and healthcare)
  • Life insurance
  • Remote-first work environment

About Mission Lane

Founded in December 2018, Mission Lane is a purpose-driven fintech company based in the U.S., with headquarters in Richmond, Virginia.

Our journey began with a realization: nearly fifty percent of the adult population in the U.S. lacks access to a clear line of credit. Most traditional credit card companies either overlook or overcharge this group due to less-than-perfect credit scores or no scores at all. We decided this needed to change.

In partnership with our sponsor banks, we offer credit cards under the Mission Lane brand, providing better, clearer terms, and a more refined customer experience than alternatives available to individuals working hard to improve their credit. To date, over four million consumers have chosen Mission Lane, earning high customer ratings on Credit Karma for its market segment and industry-leading Net Promoter scores.

Mission Lane has cumulatively raised over $600 million of equity from leading investors, including Invus Opportunities, QED Investors, LL Funds, funds affiliated with Oaktree Capital Management, and other leading investors.

Our Commitment

Our commitment to a workplace built on respect and dignity is guided by our core value of Unity. We believe that everyone plays a vital role in our shared purpose, and we actively cultivate an environment where all individuals have the opportunity to do their best work. By fostering a culture of empathy and collaboration, we create a strong sense of belonging and support for every team member.

Mission Lane is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, sexual orientation, or gender identity), national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status.

Mission Lane provides reasonable accommodations to applicants who need them for medical or religious reasons, as required by law. Applicants can initiate an accommodation request by contacting peopleexperience@missionlane.com.

Mission Lane is not sponsoring new applicant employment authorization and please, no third-party recruiters.

Application Integrity

Our cardholders trust us with their financial well-being, and this trust starts with the integrity of the people on our team. We're looking for team members who share our dedication to transparency and truth. Please verify that the information in your application is accurate and complete.

Providing any information to Mission Lane that is not completely truthful at any point during the application or hiring process may result in removal from the hiring process, disqualification from future opportunities, withdrawal of an offer or other sanctions for candidates and, in addition for employees, disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
