About Poolside
In this decade, the world will create artificial intelligence that reaches human-level intelligence (and beyond) by combining learning and search. Poolside exists to be one of these companies—to build a world where AI will drive the majority of economically valuable work and scientific progress.
We believe that software development will be the first major capability in neural networks that reaches human-level intelligence. Today we focus on building for a developer-led, increasingly AI-assisted world. We envision a future where not 100 million people can build software, but 2 billion people can.
About Our Team
We are a remote-first team that sits across Europe and North America and comes together once a month in-person for 3 days and for longer offsites twice a year. Our R&D and production teams combine research and engineering-oriented profiles, but everyone deeply cares about the quality of the systems we build.
About the Role
We're looking for an Events Lead to take full ownership of every event poolside touches—the ones we host and the ones we show up to—across the world. From investor moments like Davos to developer activations to revenue-driving conferences we attend, you'll own production end to end: booth, materials, swag, logistics, vendors, and the run-of-show.
This role is based in the US. The most complex and highest-stakes events we run happen here, for reasons of audience, partners, and logistics, so we need someone on the ground who can lead them with operational rigor. You'll work across marketing, sales, product, developer relations, and leadership to turn a calendar of events into measurable awareness, demand, and model usage.
Responsibilities
You'll own the full lifecycle of poolside's events across three broad categories:
- Commercial: Revenue-generating events designed to create and accelerate pipeline in alignment with go-to-market & partnerships.
- Activation events: Events built to grow mindshare, model usage, and token consumption by getting developers to try, adopt, and build with poolside.
- Corporate events: All other moments where poolside needs to show up with precision and polish.
Across all categories, you will:
- Own the entire show: Manage everything from budget to booth design, swag to A/V, and on-site operations to the run-of-show.
- Be the reason it runs flawlessly: Provide briefings, schedules, logistics, and prep so the traveling team walks in sharp, organized, and ready.
- Connect events to real outcomes: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with cross-functional teams to tie events to attendance, pipeline, model usage, and content reach.
- Own the financial story: Track spend, reconcile invoices, and model ROI to inform future investments.
- Set the bar for partners: Build and manage relationships with agencies, production partners, sponsors, and vendors.
- Take poolside global: Build programming that scales globally.
- Make every event better: Own KPIs for reach, engagement, pipeline, and brand lift, turning data into actionable insights.
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years in event planning and execution, including hands-on experience running conferences, product launches, or activations with large audiences.
- Based in the US, with operational skill to lead complex, high-stakes events on the ground (e.g., AWS re:Invent, NVIDIA GTC).
- Deeply detail-oriented with expertise in run-of-show documents, vendor management, A/V coordination, and traveler prep.
- Strong commercial awareness regarding pipeline, sponsorship value, model adoption, and ROI.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Developer empathy and ability to design experiences that resonate with technical audiences (engineers, CTOs, product leaders).
- Proven ability to deliver complex events on time and on budget with solid contingency planning.
- Comfortable with frequent travel and the ambiguity of a fast-moving, early-stage environment.
