About Remote People

At Remote People, we're building the infrastructure to power borderless teams. By handling global payroll, benefits, taxes, and compliance, our technology enables businesses to hire anyone anywhere compliantly at the push of a button.

We're committed to building a global, diverse team representing different and varied backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. We welcome applications from everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, civil or family status, age, or disability. Being part of Remote People means being part of a growing, international family.

Overview

We're seeking an Intermediate QA Automation Engineer with solid testing fundamentals, a quality-first mindset, and a drive to grow fast in a high-ownership environment.

You'll join one of our cross-functional squads — working alongside a Product Manager, a Designer, Front-End, Back-End and QA Engineers — building the world's best Employer of Record platform. We are a remote-first team spread across Asia and Europe, so you'll collaborate asynchronously and across time zones as a matter of course. You'll own test coverage for your squad's features, contribute to requirements review, and be expected to take increasing responsibility for quality as you grow. AI tooling is a first-class part of how we work: you'll use it to accelerate test generation and develop sharp judgment about validating its output.

Responsibilities

  • Develop automated tests for both new features and regression scenarios.
  • Conduct functional, integration, and regression testing to validate application functionality against requirements, with manual testing as needed.
  • Triage and report defects accurately, tracking them from discovery through to resolution.
  • Monitor and help reduce the ratio of end-user found vs QA found defects.
  • Keep QA impact on release schedule to a minimum.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate test generation, while developing the judgment to review and validate generated tests.
  • Contribute to requirements review by bringing a QA perspective.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in Quality Assurance or Software Development roles.
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright or a comparable test automation framework.
  • Good coding skills enabling efficient test automation.
  • Experience with API testing and automation.
  • Familiarity with issue tracking tools (preferably Jira) and version control (preferably Git).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a remote environment — clear written communication, reliable async collaboration.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with AI coding assistants applied to test generation, and a willingness to build a disciplined workflow around them.
  • Experience creating and maintaining manual testing plans.
  • Experience working on a SaaS platform, or at least a custom-built product.
  • Familiarity with agile environments and frequent release cycles.
  • Awareness of DevOps practices related to QA infrastructure and CI/CD.
  • Understanding of web application development concepts.
  • Self-directed and curious: you take ownership of your tasks, seek feedback proactively, and drive your own growth without waiting to be pushed.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary
  • Asynchronous, remote-first working environment
  • Ability to work from abroad for short periods
  • Internal growth opportunities
  • Provided hardware and necessary tools from day one
