Director of Data Science - Patient Experience

About the Role

Day-to-day, you will lead analyses to help develop product features that address key consumer pain points, working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers. You will lead a dedicated data science team tasked with analyzing business and product performance, designing and conducting experiments, and contributing to product planning. This role sits at the heart of our mission; your work will directly impact hundreds of thousands of people by helping them access the care they need and stay with it long enough to truly get better. This is a player-coach role, where you will both guide analysts’ work and drive your own projects.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of related professional experience.
• Bachelor (or higher) degree with a background in Data Science, Math, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or other quantitative fields.
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics or data science, supporting multiple areas of a business with analytical recommendations (e.g., Sales, Clinical Operations, Finance, Customer Experience).
• Solid people management experience, building and leading teams and developing talent.
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders with strong data storytelling skills.
• Deep experience with statistical analysis and A/B testing.
• Deep understanding of product analytics metrics (e.g., retention, conversion, engagement, churn) and marketplace balance metrics, with experience translating them into actionable insights.
• Expert in Python and/or SQL, as well as familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in a high-growth startup and/or consumer digital marketplace.
• Prior experience in healthcare.
• Ability to connect analytics insights to business strategy, influencing product decisions that drive revenue and growth.
• Experience incorporating AI into Analytics/Data Science workflows.
• Experience with Machine Learning and Ranking systems.
