Product Engineer - ScraperAPI

We are an AI platform that transforms images and text into ready-to-use 3D models in minutes, a task that traditionally takes a 3D artist days or weeks. With over 2 million registered users, our platform is utilized by game developers, 3D printing enthusiasts, and creators to generate and edit images, convert them into 3D models in every major format, and integrate them into custom pipelines. We are now expanding into the business space, building custom AI workflows for companies such as 3D printing businesses.

Profile Overview

We are seeking a Product Engineer who is passionate about building products people love to use. You will work directly with our founder and take significant ownership of the product, including deciding what to build, shaping its look and feel, and shipping it end-to-end across both frontend and backend.

This is a proactive role where you will have the freedom to drive the product yourself, serving a large and growing global user base. You will have a front-row seat as we transition from hobbyists and indie game developers to business customers. If you possess the craft and taste for product development, we will support you in learning the 3D aspects.

Your Immediate Impact (First 3-6 Months)

• Ship new product features end-to-end, from the Next.js frontend to the Django backend.
• Maintain the high UX and UI quality of the product as you ship new features, ensuring everything new feels as polished as existing features.
• Gain proficiency in how 3D models, formats, and pipelines function within our product.
• Take ownership of specific product areas and proactively propose future development.

Your Responsibilities

• Own product features from conception to release, without requiring detailed specifications for every task.
• Build refined, well-designed interfaces using Next.js (approximately 60% of the role).
• Implement and maintain backend features in Django and PostgreSQL (approximately 40% of the role), including integrating third-party AI model APIs.
• Oversee server management to ensure platform reliability, especially with a large volume of user data.
• Utilize AI coding tools daily to accelerate development without compromising quality.

What You Bring to the Table

• Full-stack experience: 5+ years of experience building web products across both frontend and backend.
• Tech stack: Strong experience with Next.js on the frontend and Django + PostgreSQL on the backend.
• Server management: Hands-on experience managing servers and working with Linux.
• Product taste: A keen understanding of what constitutes a good product, with an eye for clean UX/UI and the details (animations, shadows, polish) that enhance user experience.
• Ownership: You have shipped a product with real users, ideally in a startup environment, as a founder, or through personal side projects, and are accustomed to driving initiatives independently.
• AI Literacy & Application: You actively use AI tools to boost personal productivity and work quality, staying curious about emerging capabilities and identifying practical applications of AI in daily tasks.

Bonus Points If You Have

• Experience with 3D models or the 3D space (meshes, formats, Blender, ideally Blender headless or similar pipeline work).
• Experience scaling a product.
• Experience with serverless GPU platforms such as Modal.
• Experience with Neon database, Celery, or third-party AI model APIs.
