The Role

We’re looking for a Platform Security Engineer to strengthen the security of Supabase’s infrastructure, cloud platform, Kubernetes environments, and containerized workloads. You will work closely with infrastructure, platform, SRE, and product engineering teams to proactively reduce risk across our systems.

Responsibilities

• Risk Mitigation: Identify and reduce security risks across AWS, Kubernetes, and containerized workloads.
• Security Architecture: Conduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, and technical risk assessments.
• Collaboration: Partner with SRE and platform teams to design practical controls and secure-by-default patterns.
• Kubernetes Security: Improve workload isolation, RBAC, admission control, secrets management, and network policies.
• Infrastructure Hardening: Strengthen AWS security posture (IAM, network controls, logging, encryption) and Linux isolation (seccomp, AppArmor, namespaces, cgroups).
• Scalable Guardrails: Build automation, detection frameworks, and paved paths to enable secure development.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in platform, cloud, or infrastructure security.
• Deep practical experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containers, and Linux security fundamentals.
• Experience in large-scale cloud environments or SaaS platforms.
• Ability to reason about identity, networking, supply chain security, and blast radius.
• Strong communication skills for a written, asynchronous environment.
• Ability to prioritize material platform risks over theoretical ones.
