Typical Project Details
- Project Focus: You will be a Software Quality Assurance Analyst following Agile methodologies, mostly focused on API testing.
- Project Duration: Contracts can be temporary, ranging from 6 months to 1 year, or ongoing. Many temporary projects extend beyond their initial term, and some evolve into ongoing contractor opportunities.
- Location: This job ad is open to candidates in select countries who are comfortable working in a fully remote setup. Eligible countries include Argentina, Brazil, Canada, the Czech Republic, Estonia, India, Ireland, Mexico, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
- Schedule: Opportunities are available for both part-time and full-time contracts. Working hours generally follow day or afternoon schedules based on your regional time zone.
- Timezone: While we support flexible work, most roles align with standard daytime hours in their region (e.g., 9 AM–6 PM Central Standard Time in the Americas or Central European Time in EMEA).
- Required Devices: You must have access to an Android or iOS mobile device for testing.
- Internet Connection: A reliable, high-speed internet connection is required for testing and team communications.
What Your Day Looks Like
- Design and execute smoke, scripted, and exploratory test cases on mobile, web, and desktop.
- Conduct functional, localization, regression, and payments testing to ensure software meets quality standards.
- Report, reproduce, and track issues found during testing.
- Document and share test results, including bugs and potential risks.
- Analyze test results, logs, and related data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to align on goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Communicate test progress, issues, and risks clearly and proactively with stakeholders.
- Generate test reports that provide actionable insights.
- Design and execute API tests using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar.
- Create, maintain, and review test cases and test suites aligned with business priorities and industry best practices.
- Design and optimize effective test data.
- Ensure the test library remains relevant by refactoring, updating, and deprecating tests as needed.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the systems under test.
- Stay up to date with trends and advancements in software testing tools and methodologies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Technical Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a QA Analyst or similar role, with a strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and tools (such as JIRA, Bugzilla, TestRail, Xray, or similar).
- Experience with mobile and web applications, frontend and backend testing (including API testing).
- Proficiency in identifying and documenting software bugs and issues.
- Ability to solve technical tasks required during testing, such as test data generation, log capturing, and basic analysis, working with browser developer tools, network log analyzers, etc.
- Experience working in agile teams in a remote environment with a proven track record of communication and collaboration.
- Good knowledge of SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps, as well as an understanding of test automation principles.
