What You'll Do
- Make turbopuffer and our internal tooling work across multi-tenant environments, customer cloud accounts, and air-gapped environments
- Write code to improve database performance and operability
- Improve the security posture of the database and our cloud infrastructure
- Automate yourself out of a job
Requirements
Infrastructure Engineering
- Worked in a systems language (Rust, C++, Java, Go, etc.)
- Responsible for standing up non-trivial cloud infrastructure in production
- Love shipping things to production
Domain Expertise
- Extensive experience with Kubernetes, written controllers, and know how to harden a deployment
- Built and operated distributed systems; familiar with distributed state machines, leases, and crash recovery
- Shipped non-trivial multi-tenant services
Core Traits
- Typist: You can write well and explain complex ideas simply
- Human: You build trust and admit what you don't know
Nice to Have
- An interest in vector and full-text search
- Prior experience with Rust
- Intimately familiar with Kubernetes security (GKE/EKS/AKS)
- Intimately familiar with cloud provider auth/IAM
- Experience working in heavily regulated environments
