Senior Product Designer EMEA - WunderGraph

About the Role

As a Senior Product Designer at WunderGraph, you are the connection between what our users find most helpful and what our engineers build. Considering our users are other developers, this becomes an exciting challenge to treat Developer Experience as User Experience. You combine sharp user insight, craft, and pragmatism to deliver experiences that are elegant, usable, and built to scale.

This is a wide-reaching role. One week you might run user interviews to shape a new feature; the next, refine our design system or design a marketing landing page.

Team Integration

• Reports to the VP of Product; part of the Product team
• Aligns closely with the CEO (Product) and Head of Customer Success
• Collaborate within the Product team with the Delivery Lead and the Design Engineer
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and product

Role Objectives

• Take ownership of the complete design lifecycle, bridging discovery and final delivery for web and product interfaces.
• Cultivate an evidence-based UX strategy leveraging user research and data.
• Oversee the growth of a unified and extensible design system spanning product and marketing.
• Advocate for accessibility, responsiveness, and performance.
• Provide mentorship to the team, sharing expertise in research methodologies and design principles.

Role Tasks

Product Design

• Design and prototype user flows, interfaces, and interactions with scalability in mind.
• Own design problems end-to-end from initial concept through post-launch iteration.
• Rapidly produce wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
• Define and evolve our design system and component library.
• Partner closely with engineers on feasibility, quality, and handoff.

UX Research & Strategy

• Plan and conduct user research across discovery and validation via interviews, surveys, and usability testing.
• Synthesize findings into clear insights, personas, journey maps, and opportunity areas.
• Translate research into an informed, evolving UX strategy that guides the product roadmap.

Web & Brand Experience

• Own the design and evolution of WunderGraph's web presence and marketing assets.
• Shape and maintain a cohesive style guide balancing innovation and consistency.

Role Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Product Design or UX/UI Design with a strong shipped portfolio.
• Proven experience planning and executing UX research and turning findings into strategy.
• Proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Strong background in UX and interaction design, accessibility, and responsive design.
• Experience contributing to or leading design systems and component libraries.
• Working knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, JavaScript a plus).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
• Available to work during European (CET) business hours.
