The Role

Zyte is seeking an IT Automation & Platform Engineer with strong Business Systems and Automation experience to architect and operate the internal technology ecosystem that powers our global company.

This role goes beyond endpoint management and traditional IT support — it treats internal IT as an engineering discipline, with code-first automation as the default approach. You will design and operate the backbone of Zyte's internal SaaS platform, integrating systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, finance systems, HR platforms, engineering tools, and collaboration software into a coherent, automated architecture. You'll also play a key role in introducing AI-assisted and AI-driven workflows across the company.

Requirements

Business Systems Engineering

• Administer and integrate business-critical SaaS systems, such as Salesforce or HubSpot, customer support platforms (Zendesk, Intercom), billing/subscription systems (Stripe, Chargebee), and collaboration/engineering tools (Atlassian, GitHub, Notion).
• Design reliable workflows and data synchronization across multiple SaaS platforms.
• Engineer Internal Automation Systems: Build scripts, services, and integrations using modern development environments (IDEs, CLIs, SDKs).
  • Write automation scripts in Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Build internal CLI tools for common IT and business workflows.
  • Develop small internal services that integrate the SaaS platform.
  • Build event-driven automation pipelines using APIs and webhooks.
  • Develop internal bots and ChatOps integrations.
• Build and Maintain SaaS Integrations: Implement reliable, API-driven integrations between business systems, including CRM automation, syncing customer/billing/product usage data, automating entitlement provisioning, and connecting support, product, and CRM workflows.
• Develop Internal Tools: Build internal tools that improve operational efficiency across teams, including onboarding/access management automation, data synchronization services, operations dashboards, and ChatOps tools for Slack.
• Introduce AI into Internal Workflows: Identify opportunities to use modern AI technologies to automate or augment internal operations, such as AI-powered internal support assistants, LLM-driven knowledge retrieval, automated ticket triage, AI copilots, and automated analysis of operational data.
• Design the Internal "IT Golden Path": Create automated and developer-friendly workflows including onboarding/offboarding pipelines, identity and access provisioning automation, self-service automation, and internal developer-friendly APIs.
• IT Service Management & Operations: Serve as the ultimate level of IT Support for end-users, delivering superior IT assistance to a global, remote workforce with an emphasis on root-cause analysis and a person-first philosophy.
• Security & Compliance Engineering: Ensure continuous operational adherence to established ISO frameworks. Implement and administer endpoint security measures (JumpCloud MDM, enterprise password management), and conduct routine access audits for Zero Trust architecture.

Technical Requirements

• 8+ years in IT Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems Engineering, or Platform Engineering, including 3+ years in a senior role owning internal business systems and automation at a SaaS/tech company.
• Scripting Mastery: Strong scripting and programming ability in Python, Go, Bash, and Node.js.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Solid experience operating GCP & AWS environments (VPCs, IAM roles, EC2/S3).
• API & Integration Engineering: Experience with external APIs, REST/GraphQL, OAuth authentication flows, webhooks, and SaaS SDKs.
• Operating Systems: Deep working knowledge of macOS and Linux environments.
• Identity & Security: Experience implementing SSO/SAML/SCIM provisioning, identity lifecycle automation, and Zero Trust access models.
• Compliance & Governance: Experience supporting or passing security and compliance audits (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
• Experience working in remote-first or globally distributed environments is strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• AI-Assisted Automation: Experience with LLM APIs, AI copilots, semantic search, and automated support triage.
• Containerization: Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for running internal IT microservices.
• SRE Mindset: Experience applying SLIs/SLOs to internal IT services to measure the uptime of the employee experience.
