The Role

Zyte is seeking a Platform and Automation Engineer with strong Business Systems and Automation experience to architect and operate the internal technology ecosystem that powers our global company.

This role goes beyond endpoint management and traditional IT support — it treats internal IT as an engineering discipline, with code-first automation as the default approach. You will design and operate the backbone of Zyte's internal SaaS platform, integrating systems like Salesforce, HubSpot, finance systems, HR platforms, engineering tools, and collaboration software into a coherent, automated architecture. You'll also play a key role in introducing AI-assisted and AI-driven workflows across the company.

Responsibilities

Business Systems Engineering

• Administer and integrate business-critical SaaS systems, such as Salesforce or HubSpot, customer support platforms (Zendesk, Intercom), billing/subscription systems (Stripe, Chargebee), and collaboration tools (Atlassian, GitHub, Notion).
• Design reliable workflows and data synchronization across multiple SaaS platforms.

Engineer Internal Automation Systems

• Write code and build automation tooling using modern development environments (IDEs, CLIs, SDKs).
• Build scripts, services, and integrations in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Build internal CLI tools for common IT and business workflows, event-driven automation pipelines using APIs and webhooks, and internal bots/ChatOps integrations.

Build and Maintain SaaS Integrations

• Implement reliable, API-driven integrations between business systems, including CRM automation, syncing customer/billing/product usage data, automating entitlement provisioning, and connecting support, product, and CRM workflows.

Develop Internal Tools

• Build internal tools that improve operational efficiency, such as automation services for onboarding/access management, data synchronization services, dashboards, and ChatOps tools for Slack.

Introduce AI into Internal Workflows

• Identify opportunities to use modern AI technologies to automate or augment internal operations, such as AI-powered internal support assistants, LLM-driven knowledge retrieval, automated ticket triage, and AI copilots.

Design the Internal "IT Golden Path"

• Create automated, developer-friendly workflows including automated onboarding/offboarding pipelines, identity and access provisioning automation, and self-service automation.

IT Service Management & Operations

• Serve as the ultimate level of IT Support for a global, remote workforce, emphasizing root-cause analysis and a 'person-first' philosophy.

Security & Compliance Engineering

• Ensure continuous operational adherence to established ISO frameworks. Implement endpoint security measures including MDM (JumpCloud), enterprise password management, and routine access audits for Zero Trust architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years in IT Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Systems Engineering, or Platform Engineering, including 3+ years in a senior role owning internal business systems and automation at a SaaS/tech company.
• Strong scripting and programming ability in Python, Go, Bash, and Node.js.
• Solid experience operating GCP & AWS environments (VPCs, IAM roles, EC2/S3).
• Strong experience working with external APIs (REST and GraphQL, OAuth authentication, webhook-based event systems, SaaS SDKs).
• Deep working knowledge of macOS and Linux environments.
• Experience implementing and managing SSO/SAML/SCIM provisioning, identity lifecycle automation, and Zero Trust access models.
• Experience supporting or passing security and compliance audits (ISO 27001, SOC2, GDPR).
• Experience working in remote-first or globally distributed environments is strongly preferred.

Preferred Skills

• AI-Assisted Automation: Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic), AI copilots, semantic search, or automated support triage.
• Containerization: Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for running internal IT microservices.
• SRE Mindset: Experience applying SLIs/SLOs to internal IT services.
