Strategic partnerships are a fundamental growth engine for WooCommerce. We collaborate with best-in-class global technology partners across key categories, including marketing and engagement (Klaviyo, Mailchimp), logistics and fulfillment (UPS, FedEx, ShipStation), advertising (Google, Meta, TikTok), payments (Stripe, PayPal, Square), and accounting/tax (QuickBooks, Xero, Avalara).
WooCommerce is seeking a highly driven and strategic Director of Strategic Partnerships to identify and develop high-impact partnerships aligned with WooCommerce’s long-term vision, driving revenue and creating meaningful value for merchants and partners.
Responsibilities
- Support WooCommerce leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive, competitive Partner Program aligned with market and business needs.
- Identify and assess strategic partnerships that increase WooCommerce adoption, generate revenue, and strengthen the product offering.
- Negotiate comprehensive agreements across multiple categories with prospective partners, as well as renewals and expansions for existing partners.
- Establish, nurture, and mature relationships with existing and new key partners (Fortune 100 companies) to drive mutual growth.
- Monitor and optimize program performance using analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across the partner ecosystem.
- Design scalable processes, from standardizing common deals to reporting on metrics tracking progress against goals.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, or related roles within ecommerce, SaaS, or fintech.
- Experience in consumer, SMB, and mid-market business models, preferably with knowledge of advertising, social media, ecommerce, analytics, and Martech stacks.
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally with legal, engineering, and marketing teams.
- Proven track record of building and scaling partnerships that drive revenue and customer value.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex commercial partnership agreements.
- Comfort with ambiguity, receptive to feedback, and willing to challenge conventions while taking thoughtful risks.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investments is beneficial.
- Must be based in North America.
