What’s This Role About?

As a Software Engineer at Auvik, you'll join an agile team of coders developing a network management service that monitors millions of devices. You'll solve significant challenges for our customers, leveraging your passion for creative solutions, can-do attitude, and drive for quality work to build reliable software.

What Will I Be Doing?

With the industry shifting towards cloud-based systems and distributed work environments, we need senior software developers to enhance our product offerings. In this role, you will:

  • Focus on designing consistent, scalable, high-quality, and fault-tolerant architectures for microservices.
  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes orchestration.
  • Design and implement communication protocols for highly scalable, distributed systems.
  • Develop reliable and performant code for our collector, deployed at tens of thousands of customer sites.
  • Develop tooling using information from Netflow, Syslog, and other networking standards.
  • Expand the depth and breadth of our solution with your deep knowledge of networking devices and protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product management to deliver software components that meet customer needs.
  • Apply AI-enabled techniques to solve complex engineering problems, using intelligent tooling, automation, and data-informed debugging to build scalable systems, improve reliability, and accelerate delivery across the stack.

What Are We Looking For?

  • Proven experience developing quality code and architectures, preferably using Golang or Javascript.
  • Background in designing and developing microservices.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing, preferably AWS.
  • Adept in building reliable, highly available, and scalable software on top of the Kafka streaming platform.
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies such as Scrum.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.
  • Passion for mentoring and guiding junior and intermediate team members.
  • Enthusiasm for researching new technologies and making recommendations based on experiences and findings.
  • Accountability towards following processes and making suggestions for improvements.
  • Desire to collaboratively create elegant, scalable, modern code that evolves our products.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) to work collaboratively with the immediate team and the larger organization.

About Auvik

Auvik delivers cloud-based network management software that provides IT teams with instant visibility and control over their infrastructure—whether on-site, remote, or dispersed across global networks. Our platform automates network discovery, mapping, monitoring, configuration backups, traffic analysis, and alerting, enabling IT professionals and MSPs to manage complex, multi-site environments with ease.

We are focused on building a diverse and inclusive workforce. If you’re excited about this role but do not meet 100% of the qualifications, we encourage you to apply. We are happy to make any accommodations you may need throughout the interview process. Auvik is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Hiring Process

Our hiring process is personal, transparent, and human-led. Talent Acquisition Partners review all resumes, connect with aligned candidates, and maintain communication throughout your journey. If interests align, you'll meet with a hiring manager and additional team members via Zoom.

Before meeting a hiring manager, we ask candidates to complete a 5-minute Predictive Index (PI) assessment to understand your strengths and work preferences.

We use AI tools to support administrative tasks (e.g., sourcing, drafting communications, interview summaries) but not for interviewing, screening, assessing candidates, or determining who moves forward. We believe hiring requires judgment augmented, not replaced, by AI.

Compensation Details

Our compensation philosophy is market competitive, rewards performance, reflects equity, and maintains transparency. We have defined job levels and compensation ranges for each market, based on regular market data research. Compensation offered is based on job-related skills, knowledge, and experience, which may cause your compensation to vary within the outlined range.

In addition to cash compensation, all full-time employees receive stock options to share in Auvik’s future successes. Auvik employees are eligible for comprehensive health and dental benefits, a Wellness spending account, GRSP matching, flexible paid time off, paid parental leave, and remote working subsidies.
