The Role

As the Payments Risk Analyst, you will work to develop processes, systems, and tools to manage the financial and compliance risk associated with Bloomerang’s rapidly growing payments platform. You should be a curious individual who monitors transaction patterns and customer behavior to identify potential risk exposure to Bloomerang, translating insights into actionable strategies and tactics to reduce risk.

What You Will Do

• Conduct research to identify trends, outliers, patterns, and insights relating to performance and fraudulent or suspicious transaction activity.
• Make "next step" recommendations to Senior Leadership on customer accounts presenting fraud or risk exposure.
• Utilize research and analytical tools to make quality decisions regarding risk alerts, ensuring prioritization based on risk severity.
• Leverage data to help develop risk policies that align with departmental objectives and create value for Bloomerang and its customers.
• Work with Product, Engineering, and CX teams to educate and implement best practices in process design, monitoring, and fraud reporting.

What You Need to Succeed

• Exceptional research and investigative skills.
• Excellent communication skills, communicating empathetically to customers while maintaining an unbiased risk assessment.
• Confidence working independently or collaboratively within a team.
• Ability to manage work streams and processes with minimal oversight.
• Awareness of one or more payment platforms and related operational procedures.
• Understanding of NACHA and Card Association rules and regulations, including experience managing risk around returns, reversals, and chargebacks.
• Awareness of relevant compliance laws and regulations.
• Ability to actively explore, learn, and responsibly integrate AI tools into daily tasks to drive efficiency.

Location & Requirements

• Type: Permanent, full-time, fully remote position.
• Location: Open to US-based remote candidates (employees living in Indianapolis, IN are welcome to work from HQ).

• Salary Range: $79,100 - $105,000 USD base salary + eligible for a discretionary bonus.
