About the Role

As a Cloud Professional Services Manager (Field Engineering Manager) at Canonical, you will lead a team of cloud solutions architects helping customers implement open-source solutions across public clouds and on-premise data centers. You will bridge the gap between technical engineering and customer success, ensuring high-quality delivery of solutions like Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, and MLops platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of engineers ranging from graduate to senior levels.
  • Technical Oversight: Act as a hands-on leader who can troubleshoot technical issues and participate in technical presales conversations.
  • Operational Excellence: Implement disciplined engineering processes, measure team health, and manage project progress.
  • Stakeholder Management: Represent your team and products to partners, customers, and internal leadership.
  • Career Development: Provide career guidance and foster talent growth within your team.

What We Are Looking For

  • Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud computing (Kubernetes, OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure, Ceph) and Linux/networking.
  • Presales Experience: Proven ability to provide technical advice during the sales process.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated track record of leading, coaching, and mentoring engineering teams.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written English skills.
  • Mindset: Dynamic, organized, and passionate about open-source technology.
  • Education: Exceptional academic track record.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 25% for internal events and customer meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Fluency in Spanish or French.
  • Experience collaborating with external partners and providing feedback for engineering roadmaps.
