As a field engineer, you will act as a technical bridge, helping business leaders define joint go-to-market programs and ensuring our partners receive expert guidance on the entire open-source stack, from kernel to edge.

What You Will Do

  • Architect Solutions: Design cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, Spark) for both On-Premises and Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) environments.
  • Integrate Tech: Architect and integrate open-source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX.
  • Partner Enablement: Help partners architect joint solutions using Canonical technologies.
  • Content Creation: Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations.
  • Workshops: Prepare and lead onboarding sessions and workshops for partner teams.

What We Are Looking For

  • Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, and software automation.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on public or private clouds.
  • Proficiency in Python and Bash, with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a passion for customer-facing engagement.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent technical experience.
  • Interest in emerging technologies like LXD, Juju, and Snaps.

What We Offer

  • Distributed Environment: A remote-first culture since 2004 with twice-yearly in-person team sprints.
  • Professional Development: Annual learning and development budget of $2,000 USD.
  • Compensation: Competitive base pay with a performance-driven annual bonus and annual reviews.
  • Benefits: Comprehensive package including holiday leave, maternity/paternity leave, Employee Assistance Programme, and travel perks (Priority Pass/upgrades).
