
About the Role
Canonical is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join our Alliances team. You will work with global partners—including Intel, Nvidia, Google, Dell, HP, Accenture, and Tata—to help them understand and adopt our open-source platform, including Ubuntu, OpenStack, Kubernetes, and AI/MLOps.
As a field engineer, you will act as a technical bridge, helping business leaders define joint go-to-market programs and ensuring our partners receive expert guidance on the entire open-source stack, from kernel to edge.
What You Will Do
- Architect Solutions: Design cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, Spark) for both On-Premises and Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) environments.
- Integrate Tech: Architect and integrate open-source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra, and NGINX.
- Partner Enablement: Help partners architect joint solutions using Canonical technologies.
- Content Creation: Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations.
- Workshops: Prepare and lead onboarding sessions and workshops for partner teams.
What We Are Looking For
- Extensive experience with Linux (Ubuntu preferred), Kubernetes, Ceph, and software automation.
- Proven experience designing and implementing solutions on public or private clouds.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash, with strong troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a passion for customer-facing engagement.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Ability to travel globally up to 30% of the time.
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent technical experience.
- Interest in emerging technologies like LXD, Juju, and Snaps.
